I liked this episode. Velma and Shaggy switching characters was fun, and the villain was really great!

Totally agree! It was out of ordinary to see Shaggy like this! And I liked the end a lot!

Loved the episode but the Mayor totally was not taken in for a crime by a public official and even after they catch him he's giving his little I've seen the light , I did wrong speech there are still golfers tied up in a shack until they are discovered. This is horrible they could have starved or needed a change of drawers. Oh well I know it's all in fun.

My favorite episode. I love it when they remind us that Shaggy despite his laziness and cowardice is not actually stupid.

I wouldn't say it necessarily highlighted Shaggy's intelligence, especially considering he hunches turned out wrong, but it does re-emphasize that when his friends are in real danger or a monster is doing something directly contrary to Shaggy's interests, he can summon the false courage to actively fight against them.
I also laughed at Velma asking Scooby what he does when he wants to not search for clues - if I were here I would've done the exact opposite, considering everything Shaggy and Scooby usually do to evade the monsters usually puts them in their direct way, lol.

He was only wrong because it always has to be Velma who solves the mystery. Also despite being wrong he came very close to being right. He may be lazy, goofy and cowardly but he's not stupid.

One of the best episodes with a really fun monster, setting, and switch of characters in Velma and Shaggy. It was fun to see Shaggy leading and Velma scared

So I talked about novelty episodes in the Scooby Doo Valentine thread. I'm not really sure why it works for me so well in that episode but in this the whole personality switch just seems cheesy and not one of my favorites of the series

I enjoyed the role reversal here but it was too short, this probably should've been a movie. I'm going with 5/10 but the concept had 7/10 potential
