I really love this episode, this is my favorite episode of the series. It had some really creepy moments, like when Lisa turned into a vampire. The villain was really creepy too! I really loved the storyline too, even though they have done vampire episodes in the past, this one stood out as different to me.

One of the creepiest episodes in general! And I watched it for the first time in the Spookiest Tales when I was 7, and watching it in English with Greek subtitles made it even scary! Things always change when an episode/movie is translated, and Greek translations pretty much suck...

I liked it, but not my favorite vampire episode.

One of my favourites from the series. This episode was the least played on Cartoon Network when i was a kid and it feels very fresh to me. A return to the creepy way of Where Are You. Plus one of the few where Scooby-Dum was tolerable.

Probably helps that my local video store back in the day used to have it on VHS along with Headless Horseman of Halloween. Ah, childhood!

Great episode, probably my favorite with Scooby-Dum. I always enjoy when it the gang goes up against a vampire, and this one was no exception. Plus as a child some of it was actually legitimately spooky.

Count me in as one more vote for one of the best of the series. It's pretty creepy (pretty close up there with Harum Scarum). Also Scooby Dum is a welcome presence here (All of his episodes turned out really well with this probably being the best or at least right up there with Headless Horseman). Best episode of the season without a doubt

This and "Harum Scarum" are pretty much joint for the darkest episode of the series but I honestly might just prefer this one, slightly. Uncle Leon is up there with the most despicable villains we ever meet and the Vampire is absolutely fantastic. Season 2 of TSDS just had such an aweseome menacing atmosphere, throughout - peaking with this episode.

Along with one of the darkest, I’ve also always thought this is one of the saddest episodes of the franchise. Lisa said she viewed Uncle Leon as a father and I can’t imagine how she felt when he was revealed as the vampire going after her. He certainly is despicable

There's a reason this episode was released on VHS, DVD, and such very early on, and from an obscure season: it's a great episode! Not only that, it features Scooby Dum, and he seems to nicely fit into the episode naturally. There's something about this episode that feels more like "that could actually happen", with everything basically taking place in just a hotel. You have lore (gramp was a vamp), mystery (coffin convention), and it just fits together nicely.

Anime feels more serious to me when I watch it in native Japanese verses English overdubs. Very different feels even though it's the same show.

What's worse is that the "Vampire" would have been Uncle Leon's own father. He dragged his late father's memory through the mud just to gaslight his niece. Sorry. This was meant to be a reply to Matt but I clicked quote on the wrong post.

This is different from how I remembered it (but I recall the lobby looking golden and the hotel walls). It has very quiet eerie atmosphere. Gramps has a great design. Scooby-Dum was a benefit for this and his presence gave it more uniqueness. The one thing that I took away from it was the quiet atmosphere. It's the type of episode that's worth going over again. I swear I thought there was a staircase shown in the lobby area?
