I thought the cast said they originally signed on for 3 movies? Can anyone confirm this and if so, where is the third? I thought Lake Monster did extremely well?

I remember reading about that too, but can't find any information about it. The live action films are great, I would have loved a third one. I really enjoyed "Curse Of The Lake Monster". I'm not sure if there are any plans though, since I think they will be focusing on the new theatrical animated movie before anymore live action films. Still, I wouldn't mind another addition to the series!

I suppose they either nixed it or just decided to work elsewhere.
The being said though as a whole they've got a direct to video movie franchise, a direct to video special franchise (assuming it's going to continue as long as the 13 spooky tales line continues), an upcoming animated theatrical movie which will probably try to be a franchise, plus whatever Cartoon Network's desired flavor of the month reboot they've got them making.
So yeah that's four scooby lines going at once. I'm not going to be surprised if they just decided to pass on more live action ones.

I never thought about how much they actually have going on at once. It doesn't seem like they care too much about live action Doo movies. I remember how much of a flop they claimed Monsters Unleashed was but it was a $25,000,000 budget movie that went on to gross $181,000,000. Probably is a lot of trouble to adapt it to live action but I say its worth it. I'd love to see the cast from the original 2 brought back over the cast of Begins/Lake Monster. OR! I'd sell my soul to see the original cut of the first movie, the one the screened and parents freaked out about lol

I think it was because Curse of the Lake Monster had bad ratings, but I'm not 100% positive on that.

I recall it had extremely high numbers, especially the premier. Mixed reviews though, mostly on the negative side. I'm indifferent to it. I liked it, but it was very childish and the writting was sloppy

Hopefully they haven't completely given up on the live-action films. Maybe if the new theatrical movie is a "success", they'll consider another one? I prefer them because they're much higher quality than the pointless DTV movies.

Well, that's at least three souls up for barter! I hope they haven't given up either. I've always been torn with this question, should a live action Scooby doo with a PG-13 rating be made? The idea has been passed around before and I was against it at first, because I recognize the young fan base the show has and I wouldn't want to hurt the integrity of that but with the way kids are today and the money it would generate I'm leaning toward the only way another live action movie would be made would be if they upped the darkness and seriousness. I thought SDMI was pretty mature and it did well, had a good draw.

Perhaps we should contact Disney and convince them to purchase the rights to Scooby Doo. If I know anything, its that if Disney thinks they can make even lunch money off of something; they'll produce it lol

After watching Ultimate Spider-man and Avengers Assemble, I don't want them anywhere near Scooby. Then again, they've been hitting it with the Marvel movies
