I got an idea for a new series when I read j3h's post about liking A Nightmare Before Christmas. What if There was a series where each episode was done by a different writer/Producer? One episode could be done by Tim Burton. Then the next by Rob Zombie. Then the next by Wes Craven...and so on! Each episode would be completely different than the next, still kid friendly in a darker SDMI kind of way, and wouldn't necessarily have to have a running story line. I would love to see what these people would come up with.
What do you all think?

Would be interesting to see the results. Could also open up the show to a wider audience.

It would bring fans of those directors/writers over to the Scooby side...at least to see those individual episodes.

Almost like a tales from the crypt or masters of horror Scooby-themed series....I like it!

The problem, I think, is that you couldn't get a lot of big name director's to pitch in. I think it'd be easier to get famous writers.

Like the Animatrix.. the Animscoob! AnimDoo? I would have liked it before MI, but MI Season 2 is rubbing me the wrong way. I did like the SD Anime style intro from one of the movies though... i think it was Camp Scare maybe?

I just had a total epiphany. How about a series of Scooby Doo which works like the SyFy tv series Destination Truth but they actually find things more than naught, and when they don't find things for real, they ofcourse solve a greater underlying mystery. We would have to just magically see well at night and use flashlights instead of Nightvision in Green. I kind of get the idea from Zombie Island. Heck, it could even directly continue Zombie Island , though maybe they'd have to get a license from Coast To Coast AM just to cover themselves, not that they'd probably get huffy about it. Did anyone else notice that that movie opens up almost exactly like Ghostbusters 2 conceptually. How about it: Scooby Doo: Coast to Coast!

For a strong visual style it could be done by Genndy Tartakovsky (Powerpuff Girls, Samurai Jack, Star Wars The Clone Wars).

I want to see a 13 ghosts reboot but that just might be me. Either way I like the idea of writers playing with the story line.

Yeah, with Scooby Doo: Coast to Coast, expanding the Daphne Blake take on George Noory/Art Bell's Coast to Coast AM show, they could have the adventures of actually going out , like Destination Truth, sans nightvision, and even over multiple days, investigate both real and fake monsters and solving mysteries either way. Ofcourse all of the good evidence on the 'Real Ghosts/Mosnters' would get away. Otherwise, Daphne could also do reveals on the show. It could also give them a home base city to work from locally as well. This would let us break the typical WB management flip flop on whether we are doing real monsters or criminals with elaborate plans and disguises and do both.

That almost sounds a little like Goober And The Ghost Chasers except for the radio show. Cool idea.

Wow, Mark, I have to review that. It's been forever but yes, I remember Goober and the Ghost Chasers some. www.youtube.com/watch?v=0xCPYIXwUugen.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goober_and_the_Ghost_ChasersIt all recycles. Ofcourse, the occasional real 'Ratings Grabs' will happen when spooks happen live on air. It could be more of a TV show this time though, Radio wouldn't roll with the kiddies these days. Maybe a Local PBS channel show and have the Internet streaming audience grow exponentially. Dunno.
