Scooby-Doo: In the Beginning is the name of the Prequel, slated to come out in fall of 2009. It will be released on DVD instead of going to theaters and on the Cartoon Network.
As a prequel to the 2002 and 2004 "Scooby-Doo" movies, it finds the Mystery gang uniting for the first time to solve the haunting of their high school.
The cast will include Rob Amell ("Life With Derek") as Freddy, newcomers Kaitlyn Melton as Daphne, Nick Palatas as Shaggy and Hayley Alcroft as Velma. The computer-generated Scooby-Doo will be voiced by Frank Welker, a longtime voice actor on the animated "Scooby-Doo" series. Brian Levant ("Are We There Yet?") will direct.

I heard the title is being changed to "Scooby Doo 3: The Mystery Begins".Oh, and does anyone know when this being released on DVD.

Yeah, the title's been changed. And it's looking to be released on October 12th{at least in the UK}.

I guess the official title is Scooby-Doo! The Mystery Begins, since they have posted the announcement with cover art and the release date.

i think, they haven't said an exact date yet, but since the dvd is coming out on 22nd September.... i mean, they said fall 2009.
fall 2009 starts technically on the 21st September and when the dvd shows up on the 22nd, i wouldn't be surprised if Cartoon Networlk will show the movie on the 21st.

A preview is availablie also on the Peanuts 1960s collection DVD is what I've heard.
