The candidates, courtesy of Wikipedia: Nicole Jaffe (1969–1973, 2003) Pat Stevens (1976–1979) Marla Frumkin (1979–1980, 1984) Christina Lange (1988–1991: A Pup Named Scooby-Doo) B. J. Ward (1997–2001) Mindy Cohn (2002–present) Jaffe is the quintessential Velma because she's the first one, but to me, Mindy Cohn has really become the masterful voice of Velma because she's done and is doing several versions of her. What I mean is Cohn has what I call the "Standard Velma" (from the DVD movies and WNSD?), the one without the drama and character of the one in SD:MI, where all we see is the brain solving the clues quicker than everyone else in The Gang. She fills in the role quite well here, filling in the monotonic voice, and fading in the background (you can see I'm somewhat bored by this, sorry, you standard Scooby fans!). But I really like her doing the SD:MI one. Her voice slightly changes, and becomes more animated to reflect this Velma's emotions. I don't recall any of the others, even Jaffe, doing this. By default, if nothing else, I choose Cohn. What do you guys think? Speculate! ;D

I love Nicole Jaffe. BUT, I really do like Mindy Cohn as Velma too. I think she has brought so much to the character like you said Sagg. Just like how I love matthew lillard as shaggy. I think his Shaggy is a lot more true to casey kasem`s shaggy than scott innes. Now, I love Frank Welker as Scooby but do you know who I really loved as scooby and I think its a shame he isnt, Neil Fanning. He did Scooby`s voice in the first two live action movies. I really like his scooby voice

Nicole Jaffe was awesome as the original, I just wish she could have stayed with the character a little longer. Pat's voice for Velma was not so good, but it was tolerable. Marla Frumkin's voice was truly terrible and clearly the worst. Christina did great on A Pup Named Scooby-Doo. B.J. Ward was good. Mindy Cohn has a great voice for Velma and I'm glad she took over the role.

Mindy Cohn for me. Although the only velma charachter I ever liked was pup named scooby doo. Other then that she always looks down on Scooby sometimes even on Shaggy. Talking to them like they are crazy or thinking they never have anything important to say.

Nicole Jaffe was the best. Pat Stevens and Mindy Cohn tie in second. Say, didn't Grey DeLisle once fill in as Velma's voice when Mindy Cohn was unavailable? (I think it was in part of a "What's New Scooby-Doo" episode or something.) Grey DeLisle's Mandy voice on "The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy" sounds a lot like Mindy Cohn's Velma voice, so I could see why she would fill in.

No, Grey never voiced Velma. She voices Daphne. (By the way, this is my 100th post!)

No, Grey never voiced Velma. She voices Daphne. (By the way, this is my 100th post!) I know, but I could have sworn I saw one time where she voiced BOTH of them (Velma sounded even more like Mandy!)
