Awesome! Thanks for sharing the pictures. I've been trying to do screenshots for stuff on ScoobyAddicts. I haven't had a lot of time to get to them lately, but with summer starting, I should have more time!

Has anyone other than me as a scooby fan ever try to think about Scooby's family tree. While i know it's a cartoon but i started to wonder which sides certain ones are on. Which made me realize something.
Given that most of scooby's relative either have "doo" or "scooby" in it, i wonder if "Scoobert"/"Scooby" is a traditional name on his mother's side while Doo is his father's name. I also wonder this because within the many scooby shows we have seen a "Doo Manor" and a house with scooby in the name (from Scooby's Roots)
So perhaps it would make sense that Dooby, Dixie and Whoopsie are paternal cousins and Dum and Dee are maternal cousins?

Has anyone other than me as a scooby fan ever try to think about Scooby's family tree. Madness lies that way It assumes that the writers had a family tree in mind and didn't just toss in relatives as and when they wanted.

scooby only has two female cousins- dee and dixie. dee might be maternal dixie paternal. although the writers never make that clear. i found dixie more compelling in her two parter than dee in her episode. dee was too obvious a love interest.

Yeah, this thing I didn't get... How can Scooby and Scooby Dum fall in love with their cousin?

Yeah, this thing I didn't get... How can Scooby and Scooby Dum fall in love with their cousin? It was quite common in earlier societies, especially noble ones as it kept wealth and property in the family.

Indeed the Pharaohs of Egypt took ' keeping things in the family' very literally ' Pharaohs would often marry female cousins or even sisters. and even today, in many states you can marry your cousins under certain circumstances. incest- which is illegal- refers to immediate family, mom dad, brother sister, it does not refer to cousins. and in any event its different since thety are dogs, not humans.

Well, it's not common in my country - I don't think it happens at all! It can only happen accidentally if you don't realise that you're marrying a relative... Although this sounds like the plot of a soap opera... Quite shocked... Anyways, thanks for the info, guys!

you're welcome scoob. of course i dont think the writers fully thought through the implications of scooby and scooby dum hitting on scooby dee

Family members were parachuted in as and when required by the story with, I'd say, little or no regard for continuity. For more information on the subject there's Wikipedia
