Both episodes could stand for an extension on time which is a strange thing to say about an already long Scooby episode. Guess Who’s Knott Coming to Dinner is definitely the better episode in my mind though.
I’ve always wished that Guess Who’s Knott Coming to Dinner would have expanded on the actual mystery a bit more. I really enjoy the Ghost of Captain Moody’s design and the general idea. However, Don Knotts filler is a ton of fun which is why I wish they’d expand it rather than changing up the flow of the episode. I see it as a good episode that could’ve been great
I also like A Good Medium is Rare but I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t a complete mess. The abrupt end to the episode was not preferable but passable. But there are so many loose ends in this episode. I posted about that more in the episode thread. Overall, a neat idea that probably either needed less plot line in it or more time to finish those plot lines. Overal a decent episode but a very confusing ordeal
Guess Who's Knott Coming to Dinner is far superior. I love the haunted house setting and the Captain Moody mystery, while not expanded on a ton like Matt said, was really fun. I enjoyed Don's antics as well. A Good Medium is Rare felt kinda rushed at times, like we never found out who the gargoyle was, and the ending didn't even really require the gang to be there, because the police caught the crooks without anyone else's help.

GWKCTD is a much quieter episode compared to A Good Medium. That one is very lighthearted. It's not like 'A Good Medium' is my fav episode but it does feel kind of refreshing just coming off of Knott's one. Hard to explain..but Id say Diller's episode is more of a slowburn. I know Scooby Fans will feel cheated because it's not a true Scooby ending but sometimes it's good to break away from the formula.
