I really liked this episode. It felt like it had a New Scooby-Doo Movies vibe to me with Axl, Shaggy and Scooby being on their own most of the episode. Both the cave and the diner were super creepy settings. I liked Axl as a guest star and the mud men as villains a lot. This is in my top 10 of the series for sure.

This is a very good episode. Axl Rose was great and I loved the Indiana Jones vibe of the second setting and the old diner setting as well

Interesting episode. I thought I would have been disappointed as soon as they did that long handshake twice because usually that’s how they fill up time in this series instead of going for more complex dialogues. And yeah I would have preferred that the gang stayed together but for the short time that they were they were entertaining. Especially Fred and his Mystery Machine gags and Daphne being apprehensive but also sassy. Axl was a really great guest, not pretentious nor like too obsessed with one hobby like some of the past ones, I like how he says “it helps me think” everytime and he was very Indiana Jones throughout the episode. I looved the diner setting it reminded me of those horror movies set inside a very isolated building while the monsters are outside lurking. I think that should be the setting for a Scooby movie. They should be in this one building and have meltdowns and fight and make up while they look for clues knowing they cant go out in the dark or they will get captured. A more dark tone but I would love it. Shahgy and Scooby were actually less obnoxious than usual tho their characters are so undeveloped you can tell but all they have are one-liners about hunger, fear or lame jokes, rarely they can hold a longer conversation. But the one-liners in this one were fun. I loved how Scooby was like “what’s an octagon” and how Shaggy kept remembering about the gang being kidnapped. Also liked the underground city setting and when Shaggy was like to the monster “we will catch you in the name of pie” or something and the monster reply with an “aaargh” lol. Anpther funny scene was when Shaggy and Scooby were about to be crushed by the spiky walls. Also great monster design which asked for more suspects
