I recently found out "The New Scooby and Scrappy-Doo Show" from 1983 has recently been remastered in high-definition, presumably for HBO Max (the Boomerang service still has standard-definition prints). I watched the "Scooby's Gold Medal Gambit" episode on HBO Max today (of course) and noticed a BIG upgrade in the print quality compared to the version on the Boomerang service. It looks so crisp and clear now, looking kind of similar to the HD versions of "Scooby-Doo, Where Are You?" and "The Scooby-Doo Show," albeit with much less dust on the animation cels. I even used this new HD version for my take on a meme based on the "Crewmate" game... Compare that to the screencap on Scoobypedia taken from the print currently on the Boomerang service. Maybe that show or several episodes will soon see a decent DVD release!

Great to know, thanks! I'm waiting to see if they bring out a remastered version of Witch's Ghost and Alien Invaders at once. Zombie Island came out almost a year ago in HD (I loved the remastering, the colors were so vibrant and still perfect for the dark tone of the movie, and it was so sharp and clear I--) and I see that little by little they are adding more and more remastered Scooby content to Amazon or HBO Max. Witch's Ghost needs to be restored just like Zombie Island, almost everything takes place at night and there are some parts so dark that it does not contrast well with the background. Maybe there will also be remasterings of A Pup Named Scooby-Doo (they always looked SO blurry to me, at some points it can be hard to watch) and the red-shirt-Shaggy movies.

Yeah, the remastered "Zombie Island" is on the Boomerang service and it looks fantastic. I'd love to see "Witch's Ghost" remastered as well. As for "A Pup Named Scooby-Doo," it'd be pretty hard to remaster the intro and the first season, since it was digitally colored and composited on Hanna-Barbera's computer system of the time, which apparently only had 320x240 video resolution output, and is considered pretty low-quality in today's high-definition world. Unless they can still recover the original pencil/cleanup animation or maybe the digital animation files, I doubt it'd happen. Same with "Scooby-Doo and the Reluctant Werewolf", which was also produced using the computer system. Heck, "Arabian Nights" from 1994 used the computer system as well (by that time it was sold to Wang Film Productions in Taiwan) and it looked SO bad there. But while not Scooby-related, I'd love to see Warner Bros. remaster "Tiny Toon Adventures" and "Animaniacs" in HD, the way they have with "Zombie Island," along with "Sylvester and Tweety Mysteries" and "Batman: the Animated Series."

Time to wheel out the DLSS tech and see what that can do.

Is it just me or are the versions of the episodes that are currently on Tubi an older remaster. I find it odd that other shows like A Pup Named Scooby-Doo would have the newest remaster available and other shows would be using outdated versions.
