Honestly there are too many live action remakes these days.

Honestly there are too many live action remakes these days. Yeah, but usually they're not tv shows, much less shows based on cartoons. I think it's different enough to be a worthwhile try. And live action remakes aren't necessarily a bad thing, just gets annoying when there's too much at once aka the Disney live action remakes of ALL their animated classics that have happened in the last decade.

The key question is will you loose more than you gain with the move to the physical realm? As an exercise for the interested reader take an episode or two then criticality watch it removing all aspects that cannot be done in the a live action show for whatever reason. Now reconstruct that episode with live-action substitutes and see if it still works? Live action is possible but you have to be very careful as you need a different way of telling stories, one based mostly in the real world.

It doesn't help that the remakes are pale imitations of the animated films they are copying. Both the Lion King and Beauty and the Beast films were bad, especially the auto tuned singing. These songs are classics, everybody knows them, so at least give it your best shot at covering them. Will Smith trying to do " Friend like Me" was just painful to listen to.

Eh depends on the story and how it's going to go. Personally I wouldn't mind it but I'd try looking for real teenagers and then watch them grow like how the original Harry Potter cast started out. Maybe something fun and campy rather then try to be the next Riverdale. Like Francesca Capaldi would be a cute Daphne and she's 16 now.
I think it all just depends.

I'd go for something in the middle. Maybe more of X-Files with a TINY bit of Riverdale thrown in.

Whatever happened to the Scooby live action Kickstarter? WB said no? I feel like I remember it was somehow fake, but someone else will have to vouch for that as I can't remember.

My internet is really slow, but I think this is the original kickstarter that was funded. I've heard elsewhere they they did begin shooting, but again... they don't have the rights.

That sounds right. The link doesn't say anything about not having rights, it just says they can't shoot footage because of the pandemic right now. It's raised 26,000 dollars though, which is pretty amazing!
