I would absolutely watch an episode of this just for the pure absurdity of it lol. Only if Daphne is played by Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Like, Shaggy should totally be played by Jamaican musician Shaggy. He could be credited only as "himself", add some diversity to the cast and maybe even contribute to the soundtrack for the show.
(On another note, I didn't realize their real first names are so similar - Norville and Orville, respectively)

To be honest, I feel like live-action is kind of a restrictive format for Scooby Doo. You lose the ability to pull off all those wonderful animation gags. Well of course, "What's New, Scooby-Doo?" barely had ANY animation gags, and actually felt a lot like a live-action teen sitcom at times instead of a cartoon. Of course, The WB was also known for its' teen sitcoms back then. And "Scooby-Doo: Mystery Incorporated" also felt a lot more realistic instead of like a cartoon, but then you have all of those fantasy elements and the explosions and stuff that'd be difficult to regularly pull off in a live-action TV show, compared to a big-budget theatrical Hollywood movie. That's why I think X-Files would be a good show to model off of. It used minimal special effects, focused on the investigations, and left a lot to the imagination. In a weird way, X-Files was just a more adult skewed version of Scooby-Doo. Even nowadays Velma is becoming more and more like Scully, denying even the most concrete evidence of the paranormal.

X-Files would be a great template.

...Even nowadays Velma is becoming more and more like Scully, denying even the most concrete evidence of the paranormal. The mantra is 'fantastic claims require fantastic evidence', that's all that Scully wanted. Whereas Mulder was all to willing to see 'spooky stuff' everywhere, Scully was the opposite and it was their interplay, that dynamic that moved the show along. But yes, the X-Files would be an excellent template for a live-actions Scooby Doo. My personal idea would set them as a Mobile Task Force within the SCP foundation.

No, it was a great dynamic but it eventually became difficult for the show to sustain that dynamic. Scully would experience things like getting thrown by telekinesis, getting captured by aliens, being attacked by mutant monsters, and eventually seeing aliens for herself. Obviously it's because it's a tv show but Mulder was always right. I honestly wish they had given Scully more cases where she proved Mulder wrong, it would have done more to justify her skeptical POV. Either way, I love Scully as a character and understand why they needed the dynamic. I only meant that current Velma seems somewhat inspired by Scully.

I think they can go much deeper into character development with a live action TV series.

I still should say it should be a mystery comedy series like psych.

I, myself, don't really care for the 2 live-action films (and their made for TV prequels) but am not entirely against a live-action interpretation. Although, yes, you would miss out on the 'running in place in the air' gags and exaggerated scared reactions to the monsters. If they'd be willing to utilize a bung load of CGI and film the actors 'running on a green treadmill' and maybe even adding some digital morphing/manipulation for exaggerated expressions, I'd be really interested to see the result. Although, there would be a thin line to tread of not taking things too far.
Generally, I think Scooby works best in a highly exaggerated/stylized presentation. Otherwise, they're just junior Sherlocks. *cough* SD:MI *cough*
Extra brownie points if they use a real dog with peanut butter/treats to achieve the talking effect (aka Milo and Otis) rather than another attempted CGI monstrosity.
I'm all for a live action show attempt! Even though I think animation fits the concept & stylization better.

It's amazing they haven't tried the Mr Ed approach for Scooby-Doo.
