Cute episode. It seems like they’re finally catching up on the pace, the gang got to speak a LOT more compared to the other episodes. We got a glimpse of personality in both Fred and Daphne finally. Halsey was so cute and emanated so much queer energy. Queen Frangipane! 🥺 for the rest, monster design was forgettable but I have to say they’re good at making them very dangerous and actually posing a threat to the gang. Not bad. Now I want to see more female secondary characters that are not just “crazy old ladies”, it’s seriously the second one in a row who they design. As if that’s all they are, crazy. Whatever. Oh and one last thing about the episode, it just felt much more adventurous than the rest, gaining more depth, the whole riddle and key thing was fun to follow. I like they’re opting for these kinds of episodes more!! I’m starting to enjoy how they’re switching up things with the plots

Let me start this off by saying, I absolutely love Halsey. She's my favorite singer of all time so I was more than excited when I first learned she would guest star on my favorite cartoon show. But after the first few episodes of the series, I lowered my expectations. It's a good thing I did, because this episode met my low expectations for the most part. First of all, reciting the celebrity's Wikipedia intro in unison is SO tiring and painfully cringey, especially here where they did it twice just because Halsey mentioned her full name. Second, Halsey was a bit out of character. I mean sure, I understand why they set the episode in a poetry contest in New York (Halsey writes poetry and grew up in New York) but she definitely does not write about chocolate milk. Her character design was good though, I liked it. The Gator Man was an okay villain. But let's FINALLY start giving the culprits NAMES, people, NAMES. I'm not saying a full name and a backstory, a simple common name! I don't wanna hear another "it was the butler", I wanna hear "it was Tom the butler", am I asking for too much? Lol. And finally, as mentioned above, the whole following the riddle part was entertaining. I hope to see more thought-out plots in the future.

I agree with everything everyone else said here. This was really a nothing episode, and while I wanted Halsey to "emanate with so much queer energy," she seemed kinda watered down and less edgy (sassy is maybe the right word?) than she is in real life. Obviously, they can't have her be swearing or anything like that in a kids show, but she seemed too watered down to me. Nothing really else much to talk about with this episode. There just really wasn't much that happened.

Geez, we got a "What's New Scooby-Doo" Fred moment with Fred driving the Mystery Machine on the bike path at Central Park. I hope he's not going to become a scattebrained airhead all over again...
That Keeper of Knowledge felt a lot like a character that could've been in "A Pup Named Scooby-Doo." I do enjoy how when they use the "Scooby Dooby Doors" device in this series, it starts out typical, but starts to get crazy after a bit.
I called it; I knew who the gator monster was gonna be when I saw the crook earlier in the episode after the monster's initial attack!
