While it's no secret that many of the Scrappy episodes weren't the best Scooby material out there, according to a lot of fans, I was wondering if people would have liked to have seen the premises of these lengthened into longer adaptions? I've been rewatching a few lately, and I feel like some of the premises were pretty decent, but ended up suffering from having their plot being rushed (and thus not developed enough). I think some of these would make great longer episodes or even films (that were consistent in tone, not another crappy sequel like we got 2 of last year).
The Nutcracker Scoob - this was an excellent Christmas special, however, it did suffer from having too much going on at one time. They were trying to parody A Christmas Carol and The Nutcracker at the same time, and thus, barely had time to develop either of the plots. I would be interested in seeing this as a longer special or film.
Happy Birthday, Scooby-Doo - Another great episode that suffered from a runtime that was too short. The background into the Red Skull could have been delved into, or even, we could have seen the original Red Skull mystery, then shifted to years later at the TV station for Scooby's birthday. The villain doesn't show up until the very end of the first half of the episode. I would watch a movie of this.
A Halloween Hassle at Dracula's Castle - They probably won't, but I would love to see a film-length version of this episode or something like it for the Halloween movie. Between the monsters being real at the party, the Ghost of Dr. Van Helsing, Chandra, and the Moonstone Medallion, there is a ton going on here and as a result, the medallion's lore isn't explored, and we barely see Dr. Van Helsing. It would be great if this could be more fleshed out, because I think there's some really good stuff here.
Scoobygeist - Last but not least, "Scoobygeist" got the most short-changed of any of the above episodes. This episode is only 11 minutes long, and while the premise of real poltergeist in a haunted house is amazing, it's heavily rushed and it feels like we're getting scare after scare without any chance to breathe or truly explore the lore behind the house. There are a ton of poltergeists in that house, and it would be interesting to see the backstory behind them and have the gang maybe stop the haunting, instead of just running scared the whole time and then leaving the house forever after 11 minutes. An extension on the running time would do this episode wonders I think, and dare I say I think it would even make a pretty good DTV, the only one of the 11-minutes I would argue that for.
