Hi all, My kids were always adamant that the Scooby Doo universe was the same as the Batman one (given the crossover movies, Alfred Pennyworth being Daphne’s uncle). They thought that this was a good explanation for why everyone was always so afraid of the monsters/the whole horrifying of the world. I occasionally entertained conversations with friends about weird parallels between Scooby Doo and Tolkien’s Silmarillion - Scrappy as Tulkas or Turin Tarambar (haha), Scooby as Melkor, Fred as Aüle (or perhaps Sauron). The 80s were a weird time. Of course, my grandkids always talk about scooby doo being some kind of Lovecraftian Elder God (from ‘Mystery Incorporated’ I believe). That makes the whole saga crazy!
So what are your your favourite pieces of deep scooby doo lore/weird theories you stick to?

While there's some crossover, given the new Scooby movies, Batman's world is considerably darker than Scooby's.

It's in the new Guess Who episode "What a Night, for a Dark Knight!" Daphne receives a message from her "Uncle Alfred," which lines up with a 1970s Batman comic where Alfred is said to have a niece named Daphne.

Yeah, somehow I kept missing all the Guess Who episodes on Boomerang. Will it re-air soon, or do I got to wait till the series makes it to DVD? So far all I've seen was the Wonder Woman and the tail end of an episode with that British comedian I personally don't find that funny and forgot the name of...
And a 1970's Batman comic? Wow, talk about digging deep into lore...
Wait, if the Blakes are rich and of known Scottish ancestry, why would Daphne have an uncle who is a British butler? How does that all fit onto the family tree?

I doubt it will re-air soon, so I'm guessing you'll have to wait until it comes to DVD or subscribe to the Boomerang streaming service. You're thinking of Ricky Gervais, and I didn't really enjoy that episode either. Yeah, I thought it was cool too! Here's a pic of that comic: I doubt the writers thought very far into that lol. The thought train probably didn't go any further than "hey, that's a cool Batman reference to make!"

Pic is a bit too tiny to read, but that's still very cool!
Weird how Boomerang is still airing rereuns of Be Cool but not the newer show, guess DVD wait it is.

Unfortunately I can't make it any bigger without it getting blurry. Sorry!

You know, if Scooby Doo exists in some version of DC Comics Earth, and DC has had major videogame crossovers with Mortal Kombat, there exists the possibility that Scooby is in a close multiverse with Mortal Kombat. Which is insane. But then again Scooby did crossover with Supernatural, so anything is possible.

Coolsville is in Ohio, yes...but neither Gotham City NJ or Metropolis, NY is all that far of a drive from Ohio. Though if you wanted to keep things specifically localized the most frequent superheroes MI would meet would be Question Hub City, IL, The Flying Cheese Tray, Fawcett City, IN, Hawkman, Hawkwoman and GL 2814.2 (Stewart), Midway City, MI. However due to consistent road trips between heroes and MI alike they can bump into anyone anywhere. The furthest they would have to traveled West for heroes in the continental U.S. would be California as both HJ and Diana have been known to call Coast City and Gateway City home before even though Diana has since returned to DC. Kara calls Texas home as National City is there...and it explains her "don't mess with me attitude"

What about Central City Missouri, where Barry Allen lives?

That's fairly close, but no5 as close as say Fawcett City would be. Keystone City in KS (twin City to Central City) would be a good chance to run into Wally though. Another fairly close city is Civic City, PA where the JSA can be found.

I think that's only true for the Mystery Begins/Curse of the Lake Monster version of Coolsville, since it's explicitly stated to be there. I'm pretty sure original Coolsville (from Pup) is in California like Crystal Cove, and Theatrical Coolsville (2002 and Monsters Unleashed) is on the West Coast as well which I believe is shown on a map during the airplane scene in 2002.
