I don't remember them mentioning her being Velma's cousin in the book - unless it was like one line in the first chapter that I forgot. Marcy's just kind of Daphne's friend in this book. It's only mentioned in the book description: "But then Daphne's best friend, Marcy — who happens to be Velma's cousin — goes missing." Interesting, I didn't even notice that! I wonder if it was a last minute switch and they forgot to change it on the description.

The description says this is a different Marcy. She's Velma's cousin from What's New I like DC comics' interpretation of Crystal Cove as a district in Coolsville. That's cool, but I don't think that's the case here in the book (unless they decide to say it is in the next one) or any of the cartoons either. But it would be cool if they adapted that idea. Kind of like Burnside in Gotham. I don't remember them mentioning her being Velma's cousin in the book - unless it was like one line in the first chapter that I forgot. Marcy's just kind of Daphne's friend in this book. It's only mentioned in the book description: "But then Daphne's best friend, Marcy — who happens to be Velma's cousin — goes missing." Really weird - makes me wonder if someone different wrote the description, someone who didn't read the book. I don't know, but they don't match up.

They're really pumping out these books, aren't they? The description for this one just looks generic right now and not what the book is actually going to be about.

I just read #2 and it was excellent! Hope they keep up publishing this series for a while longer. I was disappointed we didn't get a preview of book 3 at the end, like we did in book 1, but oh well.

I saw it was out, but I'll have to buy it from Amazon next week, this week I got the Birds of Prey Blu-ray and the Birth of Ultraman Blu-ray, so tapped out this week. But glad to hear it's good, excited to give it a read myself!

Started the book today. If you're not in the 'YA' category then skim through the first 100 pages or so. Story picks up from there.
And finished. Aside from my thoughts above it was a good read, nicely paced, flowed well and all in all well worth reading. Got the second book in the post today so when I've got a spare coupld of hours I'll plough through that.

So I got my copy of The Dark Deception yesterday and I've read the first 100 pages just now. Is good! So my reviewing ability has not improved. Still good though, and I love that Velma's cat's name is Jinkies.
Stopped there to check the internet real quick and I'm about to get something to eat, but I'm definitely going to finish this by tomorrow. Definitely loving this series.

What am I looking at? Is this a loose book adaption of the Blue Ribbon film?

Oh, it's like Hardy Boys. Err, Nancy Drew.

What am I looking at? Is this a loose book adaption of the Blue Ribbon film? Nope. The covers use the same designs as the film, but the books are completely separate from the events of the film. If you've ever wanted a mature young adult novel from the Scooby franchise, this is about as close as you'll get. I loved the first two books and am super excited for the third.
