...it's Thursday, and Scooby's on. I thought it was a fun episode. I like the Scooby cotton candy moment they slipped in. The villain was cool. Loved Scooby with the pies at the end. This part was super creepy, especially with the the sound effect.

Geez, we get one of those stupid fire sprinkler cliches in the jewelry store? When the Sia doppelgänger pulls the fire alarm and sets off all the sprinklers! That is DEFINITELY not how they work in real life...
I call it; the Sia doppelgänger is really Sia's trainer! Aaaaaaand I was right once again! They don't seem to be trying much in hiding on who the Ghost/Monster of the Week really is lately. Either that, or it's because I'm getting older.
I guess the trend for this show is for whoever the culprit is to say the "meddling kids" line and then include the celebrity of the week.

I've been holding off on saying this for quite a while, and I wasn't sure until they gave it another go in Guess Who?, but I'm pretty certain of it now: the "guest celebrity of the week" isn't a particularly great format for Scooby. They're focused too much on adding the celebrity to the episode instead of giving it a proper atmosphere and/or storyline. Even in NSDM they were already recycling monster designs, and that was only the SECOND series! (I think they were trying to save monster ideas for a third Scooby iteration afterwards).

This was a meh episode for me. Nothing particularly offensive, but there also isn't that much special to say about it either. The Sia Doppelgänger was super creepy, particularly in the bedroom scene! The villain was once again easy to guess. I didn't like how they made Sia so zany, though I have no idea what her personality is like in real-life. It's stupid how they all announce the celebrity and what they're famous for simultaneously whenever the gang first meets them. Feels forced. Fred, Velma and Daphne once again felt like they had interchangeable dialogue and Sia took center stage here. I enjoyed the atmosphere. Not a good episode but not a bad one either.

And anyone watching this a few years from now. I don't think it's stupid that they're doing it, but rather the way they're doing it. I think they could work it into the dialogue somehow, like have Fred or Velma ask "who's Sia?" then have Daphne explain it or something. Having them all say it at the exact same time every time seems awkward and like lazy writing.

That was a really fun episode actually. Sia, although totally random, was very cute and I didn't get tired of the "No! Stop! Wait!" gag. But I do have two major complaints on the show as a whole: First off, the way they announce the guest stars will never NOT be awkward. Like, if I saw Sia I wouldn't say "omg, it's singer/songwriter/producer Sia!", I would just say "omg it's Sia!". And I guess anyone would. If they're doing it to introduce the celebrities and get the audience to know them, that's a very bad way to do it. Instead I think the audience should do their own research, but I guess this is targeted mostly to kids. And second, they don't even bother to give the characters names! Not even the culprits! It's wasn't Karen or Bobby Joe all along, but instead it was the trainer, the curator, the guy from down the street or whatever. It's honestly annoying. Other than that, the show is doing pretty decent. The episodes are mostly hit or miss.

Guys, the way they introduce the guest stars is obviously a joke. It sounds awkward on purpose. Don't assume every writer is an idiot.

I wonder if they intend to use Tess Flemmings again? She's one of the few side characters to actually be given a name.

Ok so I was scared for this one cause Sia was the guest I was looking forward to seeing the most. I love her and she is quite quirky in real life too, she doesn’t take herself seriously at all. So fortunately I gotta say this is another ones of my favorites. Not only was there a super creepy atmosphere when the monster appeared but the monster itself was suuuper creepy. I genuinely shivered in the bedroom scene. Also I love how the guest star is one of the suspects for once, and finally sooo many female second characters made me so happy although there should be more balance throughout the episodes. Furthermore Sia’s “no. Stop. Wait.” gag was actually cute and didn’t get old and the settings were very aesthetically pleasing. Also I’m so happy the rest of the gang went on a stakeout and they were actually having moments alone in the bedrooms scenes. It was funny and wholesome. So, on the contrary I think this one wasn’t too centered around Sia, not as much as the other episodes at least. Yes, my complaint is that they should give suspects name and maybe make them meet them more throughout the episodes.
