I have been looking forward to this one! I think one thing I can say about this show is that is sort of lacks the "spooky/horror" tones that Scooby Doo should have. I mean even BCSD and PNSD sort of captured that feel in some places--many of the monsters and dangers don't come off as as a significant threat to the gang(at least in my opinion)....BUT
This episode was one of the exceptions! I REALLY liked this one! The "monster" this time around did have a lot of presence in the episode and definitely came off as a scary foe for the gang. And this is coming from someone who isn't always into the dinosaur themed mysteries. Weird Al was a great guest star and very in character for the most part. There did seem to be a bit more of that "spooky" atmosphere! Heck, we even got something that ALMOST resembled a musical chase..if you'd call it that XD (Which you'd think an episode with a guest star that is a musician would have one--Not too hopeful for the Sia episode) But the lack of musical chases in this series, is noticeable after Be Cool, Scooby Doo but I think it works without them!
I won't spoil the ending, but it definitely surprised me and had I been paying attention I may have figured out the mystery before it was revealed. I am hoping for more episodes with the spooky atmosphere of the Sherlock Homes episode and this one!
My rating: 8/10

Heh, I actually heard the "Simpsons" skidding sound effect a couple times in this episode, such as right before Al's big "NOOOOOOO!!!" I got a kick out of Shaggy playing "Fight of the Bumblebee" on the accordion, and he and Scooby enjoying Weird Al's spontaneous songs while Fred, Daphne and Velma don't. Geez, this show really keeps using that H-B " Take Zip" a lot. I guess that's to be this show's sound effect obsession, like "What's New Scooby-Doo" doing so with that " wild scramble" and "Wabbit!"/"New Looney Tunes" doing so with the " tube take." And so we've got the first "Scooby-Doo and Guess Who" episode with who is pretty much the black Mel Blanc: Kevin Michael Richardson, voicing one of the Pete twins. Weird Al was fun, as always!

Weird Al was a great guest star and very in character for the most part. I vehemently disagree on this point. I felt like whoever wrote this episode did not know anything about Weird Al besides that he plays the accordion and sings goofy songs. None of his unique brand of, well, weirdness was there and it just came off as really annoying. I think Be Cool's comedy style was closer to that of UHF and The Weird Al Show

Nice villain, nice backgrounds, finally actual suspects, very easy to figure out who did it, I didn’t mind weird al as a guest.. yet, why did it feel so bland?

I like the summer camp feel it had. The dinosaurs were cool. Weird Al giving Scooby lessons was sweet. It was funny how they tried to run in their sleeping bags. I'm surprised they didn't have him do more of a real chase song.
I came across this video last week

Just got round to watch this one and it was decent. All that accordion was pretty annoying imo. Except for the part where Weird Al is singing to Scooby in the mine, that was hilarious.

I must say that this was an excellent episode! One of my favorites so far.
Weird Al was a great guest star. His accordion songs were all pretty funny and didn't get old, and I particularly liked when he started playing the theremin instead. I'll admit I'm a fan of Weird Al in general, so this episode just worked for me. The dinosaur was a pretty cool-looking villain. I enjoyed the twist at the end where there were actually two dinosaurs, though it of course made it pretty easy to guess the culprits. Nothing much to say about the gang this week, other than it seemed fitting for Shaggy and Scooby to be fans of Weird Al. It bothered me a bit though that Shaggy kept repeating some variation of "It's that crazy dinosaur!" Just seemed like lazy writing to me. I enjoyed the location of the camp, and especially the mines. Definitely was a good setting for a villain such as this.
I'm not sure if anyone else has noticed, but Boomerang and TV guide sites have screwed up on the titles of both of the last two episodes now. The title card reads "The Fastest Food Fiend!" for episode 9, though Boomerang and other sites call it "The Fastest Fast Food Fiend!" (there was no extra "Fast" in the title). With this episode, Boomerang and other TV guide sites have been referring to it as "Attack of the Weird Al-Losaurus!" (with an extra 'l'), though the title card clearly says "Attack of the Weird Al-osaurus!" with only one 'l'. Always frustrates me when they mess up stuff like this, since you know the wrong title is probably going to be the one remembered and included in show records a decade or so down the road.

That was a very rushed episode. The suspects were coming from nowhere, saying something for a short while and disappearing. Too much time for Al and accordeons, too little for the mystery.

All that accordion actually got on my nerves, except for the part Weird Al was singing to Scooby in the mine, that was really funny. The dinosaurs were cool. The episode as a whole didn't impress me though.
