Does anyone know if there is a logistical reason why they would cut scenes from a DVD? I know they do it on TV to make time for extra commercials, but it doesn't make sense as to why they'd be cutting scenes off of a DVD release.

The most likely explanation is that the original masters are in bad shape and/or missing.

The Best of the New SD Movies version that had the missing scene didn't seem to be in bad shape at all.

Same reason some episodes have the original intro and others have the celebrities edited out.

Hopefully it's Region Free as there seems to be no UK release scheduled yet.

Anyone else excited at the prospect of the previously unreleased episodes being their uncut 43 minute versions? I don't think those have ever aired on TV outside of the '73 CBS airings and possibly syndication in some circumstances. Also, there's allegedly a scene missing from The Dynamic Scooby-Doo Affair that's never been released on video (it does run about 2 minutes shorter compared to the other episodes). Wonder if this release will correct that. I just ordered the (Almost) Complete Collection Blu-Ray version off of Amazon (it was at a steal for only $30, though I paid an extra $13 for 2-day shipping...). Once it arrives on Thursday, I'll plug it into my PS4 and check all the episodes' runtime. I'll be slightly disappointed if after all this time, any of the episodes end up being edits. (I'll be even more disappointed if the Hanna-Barbera Roast of Scooby-Doo isn't included, but I've been assured that it should be.)

Sorry to disappoint you, but yes, all of the "lost" episodes, along with The Dynamic Scooby-Doo Affair, are all still their edited 41 minute versions with the missing scenes. This has been confirmed over on the Blu-Ray.com forums as well.

Is Weird Winds of Winona still experiencing that weird audio glitch that the Boomerang version does?

Even so, I'll probably still be getting that Blu-Ray set, along with "Scooby-Doo, Where Are You?" on Blu-Ray (provided it comes in a standalone Blu-Ray release instead of just that collectors' set.)

So, if i'm understanding correctly, the Bloomberg service has the full original episodes? Is there a site, that shows the full runtime of each episode, they should all be 43+ minutes right?
Because i have two sets of this show, one is a TV version and the other is the Blu-Ray one. And on both ones, there are episodes with 41, 42 and 43 minute runtime, so i presume some of them are not the full version. Also the same episode on both versions differ by about 20-30 seconds in either way. On one episode the TV version is longer, while on other episode the Blu-Ray one is longer. I will have to make a check to see what is the reason and if it's only a video speed thing.

I wonder why they wouldn’t include the full versions.

I've waited this out, but the bluray is calling my name now. I haven't seen all these yet.

I know with TNSDMysteries, the Boomerang streaming service cut the intros with Scrappy narrating a preview scene. I'm sad they did that...

Could be a multitude of reasons. I know with Johnny Quest and others, it is because jokes have aged very poorly. This series is unique in that the episodes are VERY long. Casual viewers who are expecting the standard Scooby format are likely to be somewhat surprised at how these feel on first watch. It's possible that they wanted these to flow better. Also, discs have a maximum amount of video they can hold, and while I cannot verify at this second, it's possible that these run just a little too long to fit what they wanted, so they chopped them up a bit. All of this is speculation.

You could always get a usb dvd-drive and change the region code to 1/USA for that specific computer/drive combination. From there, plug your computer into the tv. You cannot switch region codes indefinitely though, and the computer should explain it to you when you do. My old German teacher used to switch back and forth constantly for films in-class, and one day it wouldn't change. Her personal laptop was permanently set to play only German DVDs. Bummer!
