You know, I realized recently that there's something we haven't seen in this franchise yet.
Have we ever seen the gang get angry?
I don't mean like over little stuff. I mean this rare, true anger:
I would be 100% down for an original mystery where the case and villain(s) are so foul, so evil, and so shady that for once and one time only the whole gang is taken out of their calm/cool/collected characters and actually want to hurt the villain(s) (and they do it but they ultimately stop themselves before going too far). No self-defense on their part, no mind control, no supernatural control, no traps...just their raw anger.
Now I know to some that might sound difficult to imagine and digest.
From the objective standpoint, this would be some great character/group dynamic exploration and development IF written properly. The closest this franchise has gotten to a moment like that was when Fred punched Clown Baby in the face in The Night The Clown Cried from SDMI. Before that, the closest I've seen the gang get genuinely mad was the original three DTVs (Zombie Island, Witch's Ghost, Alien Invaders) when FD&V got trapped and they were mad.
From the subjective standpoint? There are no words to express how awesome and chilling it would be - again, just one time and IF done right - to see the Scooby gang get "scarier than the monsters" towards really grimy criminal(s), and how hilariously ironic it would be to see the gang being, y'know, gang-like lol.
