BTW I was in my local Walmart today. All the Scooby releases there were carrying a new slip case cover advertising Scooby's 50th aniversary. So looks like at least the in-store versions in some places are directly advertizing it.
Also of note my local Walmart's stock of Hanna Barbera dvds is at an all time high. Between Scooby, Tom and Jerry and others it racked up over 20 slots in the layout. I've never seen them keep that many of their already older titles there at one time. I'm curious if other brick and mortar stores have similar numbers or if mine is an anomaly on that?

<sarcasm>Yay! Slipcases</sarcasm>
I have very low expectations for this so can be pleasantly surprised. Zombie Island will probably be it, they've burnt bridges with DC Comics, got the AT&T/Turner legal wrangling going on. They could have done more but I doubt they can/will.

Slipcases aren't the most exciting thing in the world but some us were curious if they'd directly mention it. And this is our first sign they are. So expect similar slipcases next year for Tom and Jerry and The Flintstones probably.
Both in the tv shows and comics, it's clear they are cleaning the slate of their more experimental offerings. Which sucks to everyone who's been enjoying those but I don't call either of those decisions surprising. Once we know fur sure if AT&T is allowed to keep Turner I expect we'll be getting a much more straight forward picture of exactly what their doing and who is getting a new tv show or comic or not.
The dvd releases are the only thing they've seemingly kept quiet pretty on. Some of Warner Archive's promises from last year's Wondercon and SDCC aren't here yet. But given there have been clear moves in those two others areas dvds of classic releases and the modern shows aren't going to be excluded from those plans either. We're also so far down the rabbit hole there's not that many big HB releases left that don't have major legal clearances and remastering work to be done. (There's a bunch of minor ones they might be able to churn out but those aren't top priority for most of the planet) The remaining Scooby's and Tom and Jerry's are the last big releases they have to toss out. They all aren't just going to pop out one after another. They're going to be slower paced. But putting one out for their anniversaries would be a good move.
I forget who mentioned it in one the other threads but rewatching some of the other dvds I do think the whole Digital Ink and Paint element is the major reason some of the 80s stuff is going to be taking longer to release now. I think that is probably what George Feltenstein was talking about when he mentioned they were doing more extensive work on the HB library masters. Trying to improve them even for ones that aren't ready for a full release is probably where a good chunk of their budget has been spent the last couple years with a few releases here and there.

I am so excited for the 50th anniversary! I've been looking forward to it since last year, I really hope they do something huge and dramatic but just as likely is some limited edition merch
