I've noticed one thing that seems recurrent in the Scooby-Doo franchise: Velma often figures out the mystery before everyone else does, but she does not tell her conclusions to anyone until the bad guy is unmasked; besides, she was the only gang member to actually perpetrate a hoax in "Where's My Mummy?" (albeit for a noble reason), and in "Mystery Incorporated" she also kept some secrets and posed as a mysterious masked figure in "The Night the Clown Cried".
Wonder if Velma has some sort of mischievous side, and likes to intrigue and puzzle others?

Firstly we don't see any of the background work, the gang discussing the case, Blue Falcon is probably the closest to getting a view of their 'behind the scenes' mystery solving dynamic.
Velma may also have a lightbulb moment where it all fits into place. Up until that point it's a jumbled mess.

Shaggy-dog reason.
This all gets written down in case they need it as evidence. Not a problem as there is a huge pile of notepaper in the van they picked up from one of their past mysteries set in a printing press. The consignment of notepaper was destined for the military and is protectively marked. Velma, due to her work with NASA, is the only one with security clearance and therefore is the only one who can read what they have written down.

Wonder if Velma has some sort of mischievous side, and likes to intrigue and puzzle others? The main reason is because she's an introvert and just doesn't want to share too much of her solo work results with others when it's not necessary. Also, as an introvertic genius with a big ego, she likely takes some amusement in intriguing others, but I'm sure it's not mean-spirited.

She might just not like sharing her suspicions until she can prove it - which comes with the unmasking.
