Just a fun face off! Both episodes feature a monster who appears to be from another world or is at least far more technically advanced than anything from 1969. 2 Classic episodes of the series but which is better?

Spooky Space Kook by a long shot, Foul Play in Funland was one of my least favorite episodes tbh.

Yes, I remember as a kid, I really enjoyed the mystery element of the show and was disappointed that there wasn't much of a mystery when I first saw it. It also feels sort of drawn out in places. What's your reasoning for liking Foul Play in Funland? (I'm presuming, since there are only two voters at the time of writing this, that the other one is you)

It is probably the most chase-heavy episode in the show and can admit that it does seem like they hardly get anywhere because Charlie is near invincible. That vote was me haha Foul Play has always been one of my all time fabourites. Just feels like it's the one time the gang have absolutely no clue what's going on throughout and are outmatched in, just about, every single area. Also helps that Funland is so atmospheric & Charlie's desibn is so iconic that he holds up great 50 years later. I do greatly enjoy Kook but had to vote for the underdog here.

Oh man this is an easy choice. Space Kook hands down. Space kook design alone make this episode 10x better. I love this episode because of monster being one of the most iconic from this series and the entire franchise. I love the setting, the creepy abandoned military field is awesome and I connect with it because I grew up in a military family.
My problems with Foul Play in Funland is it kinda boring. I enjoy the setting, but I've always felt like charlie was overrated and his creep factor was pretty low. For me personally, the villain design is a big factor if I'm gonna really like or dislike an episode. There really wasn't any clues or way of knowing who the villain is. Most of the episode was the gang trying to catch the guy right away. Not a terrible episode, but not on of the greats.

Spooky Space Kook because of the plot, villain, and the overall creepiness of it. Seeing Fred being hooked up was different.

VERY close choice for me. Space Kook is probably my favorite SDWAY monster overall, and I adore the episode, but Funland wins best episode overall IMO.

Gotta give some credit to Foul Play in Funland here. A lot of people (myself included) see it as one of the weaker episodes in the series because of the no-real-villain aspect of it, but for those that can look past it, they seem to have it as one of the best episodes of any series ever. It shows the power of an absolutely exceptional setting

It was one of the first examples of the show playing with its formula a little, and in the first season of the first show, no less. I love Charlie!

Sounds silly but it feels paced like an action thriller just cause it slowly builds and goes from one set-piece to the next, within the park.
