Perhaps the writers have forgotten that the gang are friends. But it's been a trend to forget that, they didn't act like friends in Be Cool, SD:MI had the same thing to a lesser extent and now the 'it's 4 people who act like they barely know each other' feel is coming into the movies as well which is sad. To be fair, I've never feel they were close friends (except the close friendship between Shaggy and Scooby) until APNSD.

that's true in bcsd friendship was a main theme Perhaps it's just me but I felt too often they had little or no chemistry, it was one of my main issues with the show, that and the characters of Daphne and Velma. At times they were tight, but others it felt like they were just 4 random people who had just met shoved in a van. Be Cool was a more humor-focused series and having four characters who are diametrically opposed makes for better comedy

...having four characters who are diametrically opposed makes for better comedy I must have missed that meeting.

I must have missed that meeting. I'm not a Comedy Theorist but this isn't exactly a controversial take. Just look at Seinfeld, The Three Stooges, famous comedy duos like Abbot & Costello, The Office, etc. Having opposites may be necessary but is not sufficient. You still have to inject the humour in the story. Besides, friends or not they have to function as a team and that means a team dynamic which takes time to build up, there's a whole forming–storming–norming–performing dynamic of team creation. Even very different characters can work well together, take the Mythbusters duo of Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage, they were never friends, they drove each other batty (as Adam Savage has said on a number of occasions) but they respected each other and the work that they did and so were able to work together. They even told the production team to knock it off when they realised that the team was trying to introduce conflict into the show for the sake 'drama'. Perhaps that's the issue I have with Be Cool, there was often no sense of team, no reason why any of them would want to spend any time with any of the others.

Not sure if, at this point, someone is still skeptic about whether Return to Zombie Island is real or not, but Cinevideo (brazilian voice studio, responsible for dubbing SD films and series) posted a instagram story of Scooby's voice actor during a recording session (just saying Scooby-Dooby-Doo though). But on the screen, it's written "Return to Zombie Island". Here's the video:
Usually, they dub films and series 3 months before the release, but it's not an exact number. (Scooby movies in Brazil are released digitally in the same week of the US release)

russm is right. we know tat this point, the movies being made. what we don't know is whether it will be anywhere near as good as zombie island was. zombie island literally revived scooby doc as a going concern. without it we're not having this conversation, or at best rehashing the originals up to the 80s for the 500th time.

I'm hopeless about it being as good as the original. I already accepted that.

With this whole monsters are actually fake plots lately and Velma being skeptical in the new films I worry about this one.

you are right to be worried. they really haven't done well by velma lately. in mystery inc she was acerbic, and quite cynical at time, not to mention deeply controlling of shaggy. i liked her portrayal in be cool, it was daphne oddball obsession du jour that got stale.

As a sidebar, I think our community as a whole has earned our credibility on detecting the existence of upcoming releases. Yes WB gets some stuff by us, but this site here has had the first google search results for a vast majority of WB's Scooby Doo and Tom and Jerry movies from just following their leaks and breadcrumbs before any "pro" hoped on them. Not to mention the wikipedia lackeys have been following whenever someone leaks here for quite a few years. We're kind of the bar until WB Animation decides to actually give some website official scoops like they do for DC movies.
We can argue about whether we like them or not, but on our detective work we the ScoobyAddicts are pretty solid. So yay us!

From The Exploring Series
Key quotes are "...Velma Dinkley who everyone over the age of 25 realizes is the actual babe..." "...We've misjudged zombies as they're clearly our friends..." "...Mystery Inc would be really screwed without Velma..."
