Wasn't 13 Ghosts more comical than serious too? I laughed the most with that series than any other Scooby series. I mean look at all the fourth wall breaking they did during that series. I'm honesty hoping they do with this film too, that was one of my favorite aspects of it Ask for shipping, never took it seriously in Scooby Doo. As it is I feel Daph/Fred shipping is so flipping forced in the newer films. I've seen quite a few people view 13th ghost to be one of the darker series from HB. I think this has to do with the ghost being real and the danger and the ghost intentions to be more evil and life threatening even though the show in my mind is one of the more light hearted series. Yeah but only Scooby and Van Ghoul actually take the ghosts seriously. Everyone else is just doing comedy bits.

I'll be tickled if they do a Daphne/Shaggy shipping thing. It's been running in certain elements of the fanbase for years, it'd be awesome to see a touch of it in actual Scooby media. I always thought the (potential/hypothetical) pairing was more interesting than the same old cliched "jock & cheerleader" type vibe Freddy and Daphne have. And who knows - maybe Fred and Velma thought about each other at least once while away from the others?
Some here have been mentioning this might take place in an alternate timeline. That would be disappointing, especially since it would seem their whole motive for doing so was their never-ending prejudice against Scrappy - which is ironic, as this movie apparently has the ONE character who was LESS POPULAR (Flim-Flam).

Honestly though I'm feeling like for the first time in years there's a film i'm actually going to be more surprised if Scrappy is not in it. Tim Sheridan gave one of the most playful "I can't answer that yet" comments to the question if Scrappy, Bogel and Weerd are in this. (Which may have been asked by one of our members actually)
And I confess I wouldn't understand the logic of giving him a cameo in Scoobynatural and not use him at all here. Not even in a cameo or flashback. At this point I expect this movie will be made on the same mechanics they've been relying on for years with no big meta explanation nor timeline explanation. But somehow I think conversations about everything to the contrary of that will continue into the discussion of the next movie.

He was in Scoobynatural because it was funny in the context of the 'running through doors' scene 2. In the directors cut of the new 13 Ghosts film there will be an extended 15 hour 'special' where Velma and Neil deGrasse Tyson explain the quantum mechanics underpinning the Scooby timeline.

As far as shipping goes, I feel like what's gonna happen is as they're telling Fred and Velma the 13 Ghosts backstory, Shaggy and Daphne are also gonna reveal (thanks to Flim-Flam letting it slip) that they were dating during that time, but it was only the casual type. F&V are shocked and Fred ends up feeling some type of way despite the fact it happened before him and Daph got serious. But his mood changes when Shaggy name drops Googie, lol. I think this is the only Scooby Doo official media to have created a shipping war between fans. The comment section for the trailer on Youtube has some people arguing about romance between characters. I'm somewhat curious to know if this has ever happend before. Also, to those who are on the Shaphne side, go into this movie thinking its going to be Fraphne. I feel like some people are going to be upset about this whole shipping thing in this movie and then condemn it for not being their preference. For fun and frolics I looked at the FanFiction Shaphne forums, they've already decided that the film will be terrible. I was afraid of that. Oh well can't please everyone.

If only he had gotten the right map things would have been so different. I'm sure no other group of meddling kids would have happened to have gotten lost in the Himalayas.....no not even possible.

Every Scooby Production from 1969 - 1988 plus all the comics (minus Apocalypse) and What's New and all the DTV's and soon Guess Who, are considered part of the same continuity. The reason so many things are different is because Scooby Doo like any other Hanna Barbera series is infested with rather egregious continuity errors going all the way back to 1969. For example, originally Velma went to the same high school as the rest of the gang, Shaggy was even her date to a dance in one episode. In New Movies however, Velma went to a different school instead. Then in the Scooby-Doo show Velma was back to attending the same school as the others. Others are noticeable too. In some episodes, one of them will know how to do something and in the next episode when they need to do that again, they don't know how. Plus the few foods Shaggy doesn't like change from episode to episode. The lack of mentions of Scrappy is simply another continuity error. H-B was never any good at neatly tying up the continuities for their shows probably because before they started making the Flintstones, all of their productions were packages of seven minute shorts in which would be impossible to build continuity. The Flintstones itself was rife with errors. Fred and Wilma first met three or four different ways in various flashbacks or comments throughout the original. Another continuity error in Scooby has Velma constantly ignoring the fact that she's encountered real monsters before. The first true real monster (an evil genie) appeared in season 2 of New Movies, yet in the Scooby Doo show she always insists that there are no such things as ghosts or monsters. I had a talk with one of the writers for my blog, and he told me that the Scooby-Doo Archie comics weren't canon with any of the cartoons, so minus that as well as Apocalypse. I could link the interview, if you'd like, though it's kinda long...

Here's the back cover art. "To All the Ghouls I've Loved Before" and "Horror Scope Scoob" will be bonus episodes on the DVD.
