I can understand having a preference, but crossovers can still be fun and entertaining, and Scooby has a long history with them. I thought the Batman one was pretty good, as was Scoobynatural. Plus we're getting a couple just Scooby and the gang flicks next year. Actually even with all these dtv crossovers we still had plenty of normal Scooby formula with Be Cool and the LEGO stuff, so to me at least it felt like there was a balance (even if Be Cool has an art style I...dislike). Going to agree with futurerocker on this. Crossovers can be fun, they can also be very lazy with skewed stories that pander and justify the presence of the crossover character(s). It also dates the show as today's hot celeb is tomorrows nobody and people looking at the move will be going 'who the hell is that?'. They may also not cross borders, for me the Gourmet Ghost has two unknown people but apparently they are celebrities, honest. And then you have a dumpster fire like Speed Demon. Wasn't arguing that crossovers didn't have their flaws and pitfalls, just that some can be fun. I will argue though that the powers that be don't worry one way or another about these celebrities aging any particular show or film, since they'll likely be cranking out new Scooby product for years and years to come - you can get away with reduced sells of older content as long as newer content continues to make profit. One of the benefits of a property as strong as Scooby Doo actually, the creators can have fun and get any celebrity they want without having to worry about whether this crossover will still be making money a decade later because by then there'll have been another dozen films and a TV series or two.

Quoting two posts separately. Most sites have a way to do it, but I guess not here.
For some reason when I try copy paste what I'm copying just shows text, no avatar or quote stuff, and looks awful, so I don't post it.
Yeah, ProBoards (the site that hosts this forum) is a bit behind in that regard. The "awful text" that you're seeing is just the code that ProBoards has; once you post it, it will automatically show the avatar and quote stuff. Huh, just tried that and it didn't come out right at all for some reason. Maybe it doesn't work that way with my browser? I don't know.

Sorry about that!

I will admit some are decent enough it just I will always prefer the stories with just the gang going to some creepy house than them teaming up with some big named celebrity to solve a mystery. The one thing that annoys me about crossover is how the celebrity takes away some of the gang screen time and makes them feel like background characters. The worst offender of this is Speed Demon. I will admit Gourmet Ghost didn't have a huge problem with this, but when I watched that movie I forgot that it was a crossover film because I had very little idea who the celebrity's were. I think crossover or special guest should be a one time thing that happens every once in a while. Right now, WBA is making a series based around this idea and majority of the last few DTV movies have been crossovers.
