Honestly if the movie does turn out to be the beginning of a shared cinematic universe I wouldn't outright hate the movie. I'll still give it a chance. I've always believed you should watch, play, or experience something before judging it. I would be less interested if it is a cinematic universe, but I would still go see it before I come to any conclusion.

I think the big question that holds up everything in this regard is having next to no clue which properties would be included. I think some push back was probably in figuring that out. If we recall before we heard any of this it was just a bunch of announcements of several properties getting movies. We haven't heard anything more on most of those since then. So they probably pushed it back to re-judge what should be where, or there at all. No one wants a rushjob on any kind of idea like this. We'd hope Warner learned from some of its other efforts there.
We also have to now add in while WB itself is kind of safe, the outcome of the other stuff going on with AT&T could have some impact on where the studio as a whole is going. They could be getting more money for a larger number of projects soon. That could change who they want to test run. It's also still very weird that Guess Who hasn't name dropped a single other HB character to appear. That is the cheaper testing ground than a dtv or theatrical movie for the WB Animation teams. You'd think they'd test there first.
In related news, since the classic material hit the downhill part of the releases Warner Archive has been putting stuff out at a slower pace. But they did make mention on a podcast they are doing quite a bit of work in better remastering and preserving their section of the library. Some were under the impression they had finally started working on one of the bigger projects that are going to take a lot more time and resources. They also mentioned they believed they were close to resolving one of the ones with clearance issues (sorry it's not The New Scooby Doo Movies). When we take all of this into consideration it shows there probably are still some plans in motion even if they aren't actively promoting it yet.

This one wasn't the New Shmoo either. It was on the rest of Wait Till Your Father Gets Home. Which is in a similar position to The New Scooby Movies where they released a first set and never finished it do to clearances. George Feltenstein made mention he expected that one to be cleared in the not too distant future and they could finish up that series. They've got a couple live action tv shows getting releases now that got held up for rights clearences for years too. So work there is clearly ongoing, I'd hope one day we'll add The New Scooby Doo Movies and The New Shmoo to that list.
I would recommend though that perhaps you could write them on the New Shmoo though. I know it has clearance issues but no one is sure what type of issue it is. (Some think it is a character rights issue and others a music clearance) I mailed them a letter myself last week. I could give you the address if you want. (You aren't supposed to post it in public to try to get more people to listen to the podcast to here it)

I think one of the setbacks would definitely be trying to find which property from Hanna-Barbara vast library would be included. The problem is that only a few shows have been relevant in the last decade. Most character haven't had any new material in a long time. They could included a cameo with Huckleberry Hound in the movie and most people would assume that he was Scooby cousin. I think there trying to find which character can create the most hype and the most money.
Too bad there not close to releasing The New Scooby Doo Movies. That one of my personal favorites . Though it reassure to hear them talking about trying to resolve clearance issue with other series, which could lead to The New Scooby Doo Movies coming out sometime in the future. Has there been any talks about which Scooby Doo show will get a complete series next?

They've been just releasing random missing episodes for a while now, and so far we haven't gotten any unreleased episodes yet this year. "Who's Minding the Monster?" and "Scooby A La Mode" on the Scooby-Doo and the Skeletons DVD (released October 2) will be the first two previously unreleased episodes this year.

You always gotta look on the positive side of things and at least were getting two unreleased episodes. Looking back I've looked at the eighties as the lost era of Scooby Doo because majority of the episodes and series are hard to watch and haven't been released yet. I would feel like releasing these would get any Scooby fan attention and would make a good amount of money. Maybe someday.

Yeah, though being a fan for a long time has made me miss the days where we were getting one or more complete series sets a year. 2 episodes (last year it was 1) a year just seem kind of lame. I don't understand why they haven't released those episodes either, you would think they would be good money makers. The Scrappy shorts from 1980 have gotten a surprising amount of releases, however. Only 20 of the 60 shorts (21, if we're not counting the rare Swamp Witch VHS which is nearly impossible to find) are left unreleased as of currently.

The only reason that I could come up with would be that releasing these would only bring in older fans and newer fans wouldn't even know what it is and therefor not but it, but if your a fan I would feel like you would want to buy every episode you can, so if that is the reason then I find that quite strange. If there not gonna keep doing the full series set, then at least bring back the 13th Spooky Tales. I enjoyed those a lot because they would always included a few episode that I haven't seen before.

Agreed, 13 Spooky Tales needs to be brought back! It was the only way we were getting regular releases of the Scrappy and Get A Clue episodes.

Too bad they do not release the full set of the new scooby doo movies. those 9 episodes are practically the best of the series without a doubt. Then in the Batman movie one of the episodes included brought the original intro I do not know what to think about it.Maybe it was a start and I would settle for a relaunch that included some more even if they could not get 9.

Yeah, though from what I've gathered they only have one Europe DVD remaining and then they will be forced to come up with new ideas. The remaining DVD, for those wondering, is Scooby-Doo and the Werewolves, which would also get us the missing episode "Where's the Werewolf?".

Man wish they would hurry up and release the entire Be Cool series on dvd. With how that show was handled here in America and many fans missing the episodes when they aired them in the midnight block I don;t understand what taking them forever to release the series.
