Maybe due to the controversy there were some cuts in the beginning in the italian version (I guess european). The opening screen only shows someone typing "Daphne" rather than "Daphne's modeling pics" and the second teen that pops up on the screen saying "I thought we were gonna see your modeling pics" was also cut out

What was the controversy? I have the Region 2 disk and the words 'Daphne's Modelling Pic' appears in that. The comic Unnatural was first published in Italy so I don't think the mention of Daphne's modelling pic will raise an eyebrow.

Don't you remember the articles regarding Daphne's loss of self-confidence as soon as she wore the dress thinking she got fat? Well there has to be a reason why the scenes were cut. Maybe because on Boomerang in particular, it is a tv channel for children. Idk

Idk I'd hardly call it a controversy, there were a few comments but it all seemed to fizzle out; that Fred accepted her as she was was a far more positive message. You say the wording changes were in the Italian language translation well it's possible the omissions were due to issues in the translation (efficiency, error, differences in language use etc.).

They use subtitles or voice over if they have to translate something written. I do understand that deleting "modeling pics" would be easier for Italians cause it just shows Daphne's name then. However that doesn't explain why they also cut the kid saying "I thought we were gonna see your modeling pics". And again "modeling pics" is the part that gets cut out. I'm sorry but for me this is volontarily cut out for some censorship issues. It's way too coincidental

Was this on the DVD or broadcast? I have the region 2 disk and while I don't speak Italian the scenes are there in the disk.

As well as Music of the Vampire and everything from Wrestlemania Mystery onwards. They stopped. Maybe it was too expensive idk

Yeah Id say it is because of poor sales. They did translate Music of the Vampire 3 years later tho.
