You ever noticed a third name at the credits of Scooby-Doo, where are you? That always confused me. www.noblemania.com/2016/03/bill-lutz-original-writer-of-scooby-doo.htmlHe wrote the entire first season of Scooby-Doo and he died in 1973. This blog post has everything we know about Bill Lutz. (It's not a lot) But considering Scooby-Doo...fifty years. Fifty years, so many years, so many memories... Let's just have a moment of silence for Bill Lutz, the man who helped start it all.

Thanks for posting this info. It was nice to learn about someone who had such a big role in one of my favorite shows! I had never heard mention of him before.

Joe Ruby and Ken Spears have said that they wrote the first five episodes by themselves so I don't think it's accurate that Lutz wrote the entire first season.

That's interesting. He must have played a significant role if his descendants are still getting royalties. I wonder if anyone has scripts from the episodes that would shed some light on what he wrote?
