Hi everyone, Just to do something small to remember this incarnation of the show (since CN/Boomerang doesn't seem to be even promoting that it's ended), JCB and I will be doing a little Q&A about the show on my ScoobySnax blog on Saturday. If you have anything you'd like to ask JCB that you'd like be included in this Q&A, feel free to post it on here or anonymously through this form. All of JCB's responses to your questions will be posted on Saturday on my blog. (I'll post a link here once they're live). Much thanks again to JCB for agreeing to do this, and for answering all our questions on the forum throughout the course of show. I hope I speak for all of us on here, when I say that I really appreciate his time and effort he's put into answering all of our questions over the years!

Someone should suggest the idea of a next generation series to JCB to sell to WB. I think a lot of us would like a look into the gang's future, including their married lives (most common pairings used so Fraphne and Shelma) and how they advise their own teenage offspring on their mystery-solving adventures.

I think I made the Scooby Doo show I wanted to make (or tried to, at least). I have no interest in doing another one unless it was a continuation of the same characters and series we started. As far as I'm concerned, Zac and I got it right (if one wanted to make a more comedy-centered version of SD).

I wasn't suggesting YOU had to make it. I just figured that you as a staff writer would stand a better chance of convincing the execs that such a show should be made. Let them find someone else to make. We just need someone to get the idea into the heads of the higher-ups.

What was the brief you had from WB/CN, and how far removed was that from what they actually wanted? Did they even know what they wanted.
Who was ultimately calling the shots, WB or CN?
When working up to write the show how much did you engage with the loose assortment of bits that is the Scooby 'cannon'? Was it a help or a hindrance?
In hindsight would you have done anything different from a creative standpoint? We know of the studio meddling, this is more of a initial approach/concept question.
What was your snack/beverage of choice while writing?

i would echo Russms questions How much of the earlier shows did you mine for ideas? Were there any characters you wanted to bring in, but the studio refused permission? How long did it take for a normal episode to come to fruition?

Scooby doo the Next Generastion is not an idea i would support. we've done Baby scooby doo, I dont want to see Scooby doo: the Older years The way I see it, Shaggy, Velma, Fred and Daphne don't have to be that much older. the oldest Fred and Shaggy really have to be is 36, and Velma can top off at 34. Also the idea is similar to the Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm show where the classic gang get reduced to supporting roles while their offspring take center stage. If that Daphne and Velma movie lives up to our fears about it, then Shaggy and the others three don't even need to appear in every episode. Scooby of course can only appear in flashbacks or as a spirit.

I would prefer to leave marriage and children out of the gang in any official series. At this point, I would prefer to let the viewers decide who ends up with who than to make anything official. But if it was up to me, I would make two shows at once. One with the transitional 5 member gang and the other with Scooby, Scrappy, Shaggy and Daphne and both would be two separate universes.

Thanks, Doo. It was great fun and I really enjoyed and sincerely appreciated your entire BCSD farewell week of posts on the Scooby Snax blog. Thanks again to everyone who participated and asked questions. For many on this forum, my answers will probably not be all that surprising, but, hopefully, there are some new insights or ideas that might illuminate and contextualize your BCSD viewing experience - or even save lives. Yes, now that I think of it, I'm pretty sure the world is a better, safer place for all mankind because of the work we've all done here this past week. I'll see you all at the Nobel Prize ceremony! xo JCB

But if it was up to me, I would make two shows at once. One with the transitional 5 member gang and the other with Scooby, Scrappy, Shaggy and Daphne and both would be two separate universes. I don't know if that's a super great idea...it seems that someone would have tried it long before now...anyway, shows are really expensive to make and a lot of hard work. Two shows would double that work. I see where you're coming from, but two shows at once seems awfully chaotic.

I didn't like Velma/Shaggy pairing in the MI series though, I'm glad that never came to be. No offence creators.

It doesn't make sense to me if in the actual show or animated films Scooby doesn't appear, he's the main character along with Shaggy pretty much. I hope they at least get cameos some how telling the origin.
