Hello! My name is Michał (eng. Michael) and I'm 24 years old.
I live in Wrocław (southwestern Poland, 600k inhabitants) and I'm a law student at a local university. Next year I'll become a master. My interests are railways, travels, beer and history. I listen to jazz, classical music, rock, movie soundtracks and other catchy stuff..
Scooby Doo is one of my favorite childhood TV series. The other ones are Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, Ed Edd n Eddy, Pat & Mat – Czech stop-motion animated slapstick comedy (brilliant!). I also like South Park (that's why my nick is Manbearpig), Monty Python, Fallout and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games.
My first Scooby Doo series was A Pup Named Scooby Doo and I grew up with The Scooby Doo Show, which was frequently aired by polish Cartoon Network. I also remember the polish premiere of What's New, Scooby Doo? in 2003.
Well, I became a scoobyaddict about six months ago, when I saw some Scooby Doo parody on YouTube. It reminded me my favorite childhood cartoon after years of disinterest. When I watched the Scooby Doo: Mystery Incorporated trailer, my interest became a fascination, I admit.
In the beginning I felt internally embarrassed, because I found it too childish, especially for a future lawyer like me. But my conflict is over because SD cartoons have given me so much innocent joy and chill-out I really wanted to have because of my stressful and boring studies.
My favorite SD character has been always Velma Dinkley, she's smart, observant, a bit sarcastic but very likeable. And I always liked bespectacled girls as well!
The second favorite is Shaggy Rogers because I find him really funny. In fact, I'm a mix of these two – I'm a clown and bookworm at once and I like to eat a lot but I'm still thin
Oh, and I love Sheriff Bronson Stone from SDMI – he's hilarious!
My favorite SD series – SDWAY (timeless classic) and SDMI (in fact, it restored my interest in SD).
My favorite SD movies – Camp Scare, Abracadabra Doo (well, I like 2010-2013 period), Witch's Ghost and Zombie Island (but I must watch them again).
I didn't watch 13 ghosts of Scooby Doo, Ghoul School and Boo Brothers, and in fact, I'm not interested in stuff without the classic Mystery Inc. (including Get a Clue!).
I dislike Be Cool, Scooby Doo, all live action movies, Goblin King (too weird for Scooby) and Frankencreepy (God, what did they to poor Velma and her family... Such an abomination!).
Oh, and Scrappy is the son of devil.
This list isn't closed, I'm still watching remaining episodes and movies.
In the end – polish versions of gang's catchphrases:
Shaggy (pol. Kudłaty{speak: coodwhaty}- in literal translation – shaggy)
Kurczę! {qur-Czech!} - (eng. Chicken) it replaced both zoinks and like.
Daphne (pol. Dafne)
Mamciu! {mam-tschiu!}- (eng. Oh, mother!).
Velma
Rety! {Reh-ty}- well, it means nothing, just like jinkies! Rety is in popular use in polish language. We use it when we are surpriced, excited, embarrassed and we don't want to express these feelings coarsely. It's a very neat word!
Fred
Still doesn't have a catchphrase!
Fun fact: all of SD movies and series – from SDWAY to BCSD are dubbed by the same voice actors cast (I mean voices of the gang.) since 90's. Scooby, Shaggy, Fred, Daphne and Velma have always same voices and I love it! So much memories...
Greetings from Poland, Guys!
