I remember being a fan of Richie Rich comics, until the turn of the century. Harvey Comics went out of business by August 1994, and I remember the company had tried to reboost sales by publishing reprints of Hanna-Barbera comics, most likely Gold Key/Whitman reprints, which explains the short runs.
But what are your favorite moments from Richie Rich comics from the Harvey Comics era?
I have to admit, I never cared much for the more recent stories (first published 1973 to 1988) except for those with scenes where Reggie Van Dough got spanked by his father. That would definitely be considered politically incorrect nowadays.
For the most part, I liked many of the stories from the 1960s, particularly mid-60s through 1969. The art was at its best, particularly with Gloria Glad.
One interesting story is from the 60s, titled "The Time Machine", which was a 15-page story, and has Richie, Freckles, Peewee, and Reggie end up getting trapped in time, being encountered by dinosaurs, the time machine being destroyed by cavemen, and Richie and company traveling back to present day via a time warp, and the dinosaurs following them, only for the kids to end up home safe from harm's way.
I also like "Guard That Boy!", which had a rare instance of showing an dashed outline surrounding Gloria, depicting invisibility. It was shown on Page 10 of the story.
