The Be Cool Scooby Doo board is starting to kinda lose it's energy now that the series is finally over. But before the community moves on to the next Scooby Doo Series, i wanted to share my favorite episodes of the show, in a top 10.
1. In Space 2. Professor Huh? 3. Some Fred Time/There Wolf (it's a tie for a very specific reason) 4. Ghost in the Mystery Machine 5. Into the Mouth of Madcap 6. Doo Not Disturb 7. Naughty or Ice 8. Mystery 101 9. World of Witchcraft 10. Sorcerer Snack Scare
I loved this show, and i'm really going to miss the excitment of having brand new episodes to watch.

BCSD is the best Scooby series, I think. If I had to pick ten (ranked least favorite out of top ten to favorite out of top ten) I'd say: 10. Halloween 9. Ghost in the Mystery Machine 8. El Bandito 7. Night of the Upsetting Shorts 6. There Wolf 5. Curse of the Kaniaku 4. Doo Not Disturb 3. Vote Velma 2. In Space 1. Some Fred Time
My top ten is always changing so this is not final

Hey guys,
Thanks again so much, so sincerely, from the bottom of my heart for all the support, kindness and friendship you and this forum has shown me, personally, and BCSD, in general. We clearly faced an uphill battle from the first images posted online (big mistake) that started the "hate" ball rolling, to giving me a chance (with an open mind) to attempt to explain what we were trying to accomplish with this series. You gave me a fair chance to win you over simply by asking you, please, not to dismiss substance because of form. In so many cases, I was relieved to find people giving the show a chance and seeing for themselves that the writing and stories and characterizations were created from a deep-rooted love for this property.
It really seems like many of you "got" it in the end. I hope you saw what I was talking about in terms of creating the most dimensional, well-rounded gang ever portrayed on screen. How we really tried to evolve and give personality to characters that other series treated as one-dimensional cardboard cliches - or, even worse, just removing them from various series, all together.
It has meant a lot to me and sparked some very insightful, occasionally passionate discussions - but always interesting, almost always respectful and informative, and always grounded in a great love for these characters and this beloved franchise.
Who knows how BCSD will be viewed years from now in the grand scheme of the SD mythos, but I'd like to imagine that one day people will look back and remember that we took risks, tried something bold and different and really tired to push Scooby and the gang into new places that showed a potential I hope others build upon. I really hope BCSD will get a reevaluation in years to come and be hailed as an irreverent, funny, smart, entertaining installment in the franchise. There will be many, many more SD series to come - and, selfishly, I hope everyone notices that there's just something "missing" in the characters as Daphne, Velma and Fred revert back to their non-personalties, to not having strong, unique points of view. To risk being removed from the approach. I know people will be focused on the art (probably) returning to the more classic look and that will probably be tough to trick people into thinking the characters' personalities are also being developed, but I fear the real lessons learned from BCSD will not transfer to the newer series.
I know the people making the next iteration and they're talented folks. I wish them the best of luck and I truly hope you all love what they do. I also kinda hope you miss Daphne. I know I will. She's my favorite character I ever created and I'll miss writing her as much as I miss writing Dofenshmirtz from "Phineas." Sometimes a character just clicks with a writer.
Thank you for treating me like a fan and friend. You guys are the best.
With deepest respect, JCB

Scooby and Shaggy were actually hilarious for once, Daphne was a real character for the first time, Velma was great too. And of course, Fred was my favorite character. I wish the show could have gotten more episodes.

Thank you for treating me like a fan and friend. You guys are the best. With deepest respect, JCB Almost every episode of Season 2 was a winner, with some truly emotional moments. Each member of the gang got their own story, and episodes dedicated to them. Shaggy got American goth, Velma got Protein Titans 2, Scooby got Junkyard Dogs, and Fred got the series finale (Which was a beautiful conclusion, that called back to the entire show). Daphne never really got one specific episode to herself, but i feel like instead, all of her "gimmicks" were used to develop her character throughout the entire show, she was by far the best character. This show is better than Mystery Incorporated, i'm just gonna come out and say it. Be Cool Scooby Doo shows that you don't need a deep story, and romance subplots to show character development, thank you so much JCB for showing that to us.

No, really, all you need is rich, well-rounded characters and story and development will evolve organically. NO matter how silly the tone can get, real, dimensional characters will drive a show and create endless storytelling possibilities. I'm so pleased BCSD was able to prove that.
