Normally I'm not into this show, but since I love Halloween, I thought I'd give this episode a shot. It had some fun moments, but the mystery was pretty easy for me to figure out. (At this rate, I should join the Mystery Inc. team as well!) But what was with the "old film" effect during the musical chase scene? Haha. Right? When I first saw that, I was totally confused, as well. I still am. It's certainly not suggested in the script. I guess I could ask Zac what he had in mind for that but, honestly, I don't really care that much at this point. In fact, I wish THAT was the most puzzling change they made to an episode. It doesn't bother me as much as baffle me.

Managed to get to see this episode in full. It was a fun episode with the solid moral message that only candy can ensure that someone stays on an honest and noble path. All it needed was Velma is Spec Ops gear as with the last time the gang met Baba Yaga

It doesn't bother me as much as baffle me. That's funny, the first time I watched this episode, I actually thought the "classic film" effect was just a glitch in the quality of the video I was watching lol. I suppose it could have been added in as a homage to classic horror movies, but regardless it still seems a bit out of place. I love the callback to the first episode's vending machine gag in this one, and Shaggy being dressed as a pocket was quite amusing to say the least. Like others have mentioned on this thread, it was fun to see BCSD's take on Baba Yaga, in contrast to the SDMI episode "House of the Nightmare Witch." Very nice touch to have the trick-or-treaters dressed as previous BCSD villains! Shaggy and Scooby's cereal "I Can't Believe it's Not the Fear of Children!" to trick the witch was awesome, particularly how it came in all the spooky-themed flavors and then randomly raspberry lol. Great episode overall!

There's nothing wrong with safe, it gives people time to draw breath and hopefully reflect and learn some lessons. For WB and CN hopefully learning to leave well alone and that they are the architects of many of the issues the Scooby as a franchise has had. The problem is if we only ever get safe. I understand what you mean, but I respectfully disagree with there being something wrong with "safe." I guess it depends on exactly the context we're talking about, but creativity, to me, is about creating - which means making something new. "Safe" in this context mean pandering to the audience and doing what has been done before out of fear. THAT'S the big problem. Art motivated by fear is raerely inspired. But what do I know? I made, probably, the second most hated SD series of ll time and took use risks. That said, if they aired it even 1/8 as much as TTG, maybe an audience would have discovered the show and grown to love it like so many who have given it a chance. We'll never know. I have friends working on the new series and I wish them the greatest success. BCSD needs to get on one of the major streaming services (Netflix or Hulu). I think there it will find its audience, similar to Mystery Inc. (Also, HI JCB. )

Hey guys, if you don't know, Becca Wallace is one of the absolutely brilliant storyboard artists who worked on BCSD. She did an amazing job of plussing every scene she worked on and bringing the funny. She will be running her own show in the near future. xo

I'm happy to share my insights, or at least confirm pretty much everything JCB has to say.

HI Becca, always nice to have people who worked on the show. We can pick your brains for explanations on why you did certain things, mwahahahaha! Seriously though, nice to have you here.Which episode would you say is your favorite?
