ok episode. Not my favorite. I loved the setting but it all felt too focused on that rather than anything else. Nothing really funny or enjoyable apart from the anime vibe added to it. It went really fast. I gotta say tho that it was finally something new and honestly the thing of becoming viral could have been used a lot better instead of dragging it on for the whole thing. I love the fact that the location are finally enriched with background characters and details. Better than season 1

i was really excited for this one, i was sad that it didn't end up being as good as i hoped, it also felt really short for some reason. this wasn't one of my favorites
the Mystery was kinda lame, i was expecting the villian to be a theif who went after the missing scroll. i also thought the trap was super lame this time
My favorite part was when Scooby and Shaggy got Kaniaku to dance in the arcade, and i did like how the detective always appeared in the smoke

I think this episode was good. Not the best, but good. There was some nice moments. I felt it was too short too but it was a good episode. Loved the arcade scene and the crab was cool.

Edit: Upon rewatching I think this may be one of my top three. Really enjoyed it and didn't seem to mind how fast it went by the second time.

Hmm, interesting reactions from others so far.
I for one loved the episode. The Sumo Wrestler vs. Janitor dance-off battle was hilarious! Fred's "Is that a cultural thing or..." as the two concluded their dance-off in the car amused me as well. Velma becoming an internet sensation then Daphne stealing her thunder was also a great sub-plot. Listing off Daphne's previous quirks for the amusement park rides was a really nice touch!
Though what others on this thread have pointed out is a fair critique, I felt a bit like there was maybe a tad too much set up and not enough focus on the actual mystery.
Still, it was a great episode!

Learning it myself, I was pleasantly surprised they used REAL Japanese in places they didn't need to, such as the newspaper shots where they really could've used gibberish without audiences knowing any better.

Well, they also used real latin on the veto in next episode. They take this extra stuff seriously

All fair critiques of this episode. I wish you could have seen the original Velma/Daphne story as I conceived it because I felt how they changed it didn't really fit the personalities of the characters. I really wanted Daphne to have a huge problem with going viral because she values her uniqueness and wouldn't be pleased with everyone being like her. I tried really digging into the psychology of Velma and Daphne, but I guess WB found it too complex and nuanced - so in simplifying it, the mystery became more of the focus and it simply wasn't that great of a mystery. The show is about the characters and the mysteries are there as contexts to explore character, not the main focus.
It's always nice when people say they enjoyed the mystery or were surprised by who the bad guy was, but I think it's pretty clear that aspect was never something I really cared too much about. "It was too easy to guess who did it." isn't even a criticism to me, although. ideally, it's best when all aspects of the show are satisfying.

Though, I thought the mystery in this episode was pretty good compared to the ones in season one. Though maybe I just don't care as much as I used to because I realized that the characters made the episodes enjoyable no matter what the mystery was.

This sounds like this would have made the episode much better! Oddly enough, I loved this episode. This is probably my favorite so far, especially with the jokes. I loved the DDR scene, it was just so funny. The chase scene was great too, especially with the brief change of animation style and the part where the detective's eye flashed. I have to say, this was one of the funniest episodes yet!

This episode was pretty good. Cool location and decent mystery. Didn't like not that many suspects. 7.8/10

I liked this one, the story was good and even though much of the Daphne/Velma interaction was simplified the ending was a nice touch. I do think the viral thing was a bit over done but as the story construction was messed with that would explain it. Still, it was an enjoyable episode.
