Hey guys! I know that there has been much debate on the how the Scooby-Doo episodes will be handled on the new Boomerang On-Demand service. I went on the app today to see if any new episodes had been added (I was specifically hoping for more Be Cool, Scooby-Doo episodes since I live in America and only have access to the first 20 episodes). Unfortunately, they have yet to add anymore Be Cool.
However, they have added 13 episodes of What's New Scooby-Doo? so that's something. While I have no need to rewatch WNSD right now, it's nice that it's there. Still anxious to see when they will add new Be Cool episodes. The second half of the season isn't projected to be out on DVD until December of this year so I would love to see them at some point beforehand.
What do you guys think?

I thought the whole point of the on-demand service was to release the newer series, like Be Cool?

I think Boomerang made a mistake from the start making it seem like the service was to get new exclusive content, when in reality it's been almost three months since the service launched and right now all we have is minimal episodes which have already been aired and released. If they would have advertised/promoted it as it actually is (a mix of old shows with minimal exclusive content which will be released periodically), in my opinion it would have seen a lot more positive feedback. As I think I said already on another thread, I already own everything on there, and I'm not paying for the exact same thing twice. The other big mistake in my opinion is the mistake they've been making from the beginning, poor advertising and sending mixed messages to the fans. If they would be clear about when stuff is actually coming out (even a vague "Fall 2017" date or whenever it does finally come out would be better than leaving fans completely in the dark), more people would likely pay to subscribe to the service. Oh well, their loss I suppose. And though I realize this is a bit snarky, I still stick by the fact that it's ridiculous and insulting to the fans that CN is essentially (indirectly) saying "Hey, you know that show we used to air and you could watch for free on our network? Yeah, with our new service, now you can PAY to see the episodes because we're too lazy to air them ourselves! Won't that be great?" Sorry, CN, not biting on that offer.

Yeah, I'm waiting for more Scooby movies to make it worth subscribing. I could honestly live without cable if this Boomerang app gains more content, which it seems to be doing at least monthly. I'm waiting for it to be a real replacement for the Boomerang channel. Maybe a live mode where it plays random episodes like the channel would. That would be awesome. I'm moving and if we don't decide to get cable I'll try this out for a few months and see if it cures my cartoon munchies. Anyway, that's my thoughts.

Edit: after reading JCB's rant I'm not sure I want to support this. Did they really edit out the BCSD theme song?

Another question. Is WNSD widescreen in the Boomerang app? Or is it cropped like on the DVDs?

They also added "Scooby-Doo and the Ghoul School" on the streaming service, which is my favorite of the Hanna-Barbera Superstars movies. But I'm in no hurry to watch the "What's New" episodes, especially since one of them is the one that ripped off "The Great Mouse Detective," one of my favorite Disney films! I also noted that the episodes are not in their original airing order, but in the airing order for when they first premiered on Cartoon Network in 2004. Either Kids' WB or Cartoon Network aired the season out of order, but it's hard to tell which one... But the real question is, will they eventually include "Shaggy and Scooby-Doo Get a Clue?" Especially since it's the only Scooby series Cartoon Network and Boomerang refuse to air? (at least the North American channels)

Spoiler!
The whole end sequence in Great Mouse Detective was blatently stolen from Miyazaki's unknown masterpiece, Castle of Cagliostro. It's an awesome movie, plus the newest Blu-ray release has a family friendly soundtrack option so you can watch it with everyone. I'd recommend that version for Scooby fans. Plenty of hijinks and mystery.

At the very least they could show rarer episodes like the ones with Scrappy and such, but nope it's utterly pointless at this stage. :/
