So many globetrotting episodes! I completely agree. Season 3 is much weaker compared to season 1 and especially season 2. It’s a shame because they made a lot of iconic monsters and the episodes were just your middle of the road episodes (Tar Monster, Iron Face). Make a Beeline is a huge exception where they had an EXCELLENT idea which should’ve made an all time great but the execution left a lot to be desired unfortunately. Still gets props from me for having that idea in the first place. Menace in Venice, To Switch a Witch, and Disc Demon are all still fantastic episodes for me

I do love old Iron Face's episode but primarily because I'm very invested in Fred, Daphne & Velma combing the island and finding Captain Morgan. The antics with Shaggy & Scooby honestly became repetitive, after a while. (no matter how iconic the monsters were) As you said, we can both agree there are a few truly exceptional episodes but the season, as a whole, did start to decent into mediocrity.

Where my unpopular opinions start to come into play is that the next season, the first of Scooby and Scrappy Doo is an excellent season in my opinion even if I am mostly neutral on Scrappy (actually, that season is the one season where he truly grates on my nerves, when he’s played by Don Messick I don’t mind him that much) but I found the plots and mysteries to be very good other than that Ransom of Scooby Chief

In my eyes, it's the last "classic" season of Scooby-Doo. The mysteries were more investing that the previous season but I found the antics to be completely over the score, especially with Scrappy involved in every single set-piece. If Scrappy had been omitted from the season, altogether, then I feel it may have been a solid improvement on Season 3 of TSDS. Some of the episodes were very experimental & somewhat impressive in their execution.

The Scrappy antics are a little much in this season, but I guess if that is what it took to start getting more creative and interesting mysteries from the writers, then I am ok with that. I did include this season in a thread I made a month or two back about ranking classic Scooby Doo seasons because it's still mainly the same format, and it's the last season I liked as a whole until the New Scooby Doo and Scrappy Doo Show and New Scooby Doo mysteries, those are my other favorites with Scrappy. 13 Ghosts from what I remember was pretty good too along with the movies

Although I wasn't even born in the 80's, the soundtracks to Boo Brothers & Ghoul School fill me with so much nostalgia!

I think way more of Fred, Daphne and Velma's subplot should have been in the episode. Season 3 of this series very much felt like a Shaggy and Scooby fest with a little Fred, Velma and Daphne sprinkled on the side whenever the gang split up.

The Boo Brothers music is especially nostalgic for me. It’s easily my favorite of the 3 Boo Brothers is THE best soundtrack to Scooby-Doo, as far as I'm concerned. It's so perfectly spooky and dark at the same time. Zombie Island has to be up there for me even taking out the two big songs. The score is phenomenal and so nostalgic

I still get chills when they're walking with Lena through the secret passageway, under the staircase. That music is beyond creepy.

Also, to get back on topic slightly lol; I actually really enjoy the new parts of the music score introduced in Season 3 of TSDS. It's much lighter in tone, than previous, but very memorable & unique to those episodes.

Time for an update of one of my favorite series
40. Watch Out the Willawaw!- Sizzling hot take but never ceases to bore me. Might have to with how the plot structure basically parallels a much better episode in A Curse of Viking Like (in my opinion of course)
39. Jeepers It's the Jaguaro- What an odd case. One of the most recognizable episodes and villains of the show, but also one that is generally disliked by the fandom. And I can't disagree, it is pretty lousy
38. A Scary Night With Snow Beast Fright- Always felt this one was weak in comparison to other winter episodes. Isn't bad, but it is one that I avoid watching the most
37. Creepy Tangle in the Bermuda Triangle- Doesn't work well as a 20 minute episode for some reason. It feels as if they dragged it out too long, but I could also see it work better as a longer episode with more development. Because as is, it just seems really undercooked
36. The Beast is Awake in Bottomless Lake- I appreciate the darker atmosphere and quite like the setting. Just kinda wish the episode itself had done more for me
35. Scooby's Chinese Fortune Kooky Caper- This one kinda grew on me, but the grew off me not long after. Still, the whole cave thing was pretty interesting at least
34. The Warlock of Wimbledon- I was very prepared to rank this one even lower until I rewatched it and realized how good I think the first half of the episode is. One of the most solid first halves of any episode this season. I can't rank it any higher than this though when the second half tries to be so outlandish that the mystery basically becomes nonsense
33. The Ghost That Sacked the Quarterback- It is decent, but I can't help but wish they did more with the football theming. And it also usually runs together with Spirited Spooked Sports Show in my mind, which I just feel is a much better episode
32. Scooby Doo Where's the Crew- Diving episodes are always fun, but this one seemed a tad lackluster in comparison, even if it is still pretty solid
31. A Highland Fling with a Monstrous Thing- This one runs together in my mind with The Loch Ness Mess, which is just completely unfair to this episode because it basically had zero chance of getting up there with that one
30. Don't Go Near the Fortress of Fear- Barely escapes the bottom 10, which makes me one of the few that don't have it there. But despite a lame "monster", I quite enjoyed how Shaggy and Scooby tried to hide the mystery, and the mystery itself was actually pretty interesting. Good stuff
29. Make a Beeline Away From That Feline- This is definitely good, but I'll chalk this one up as one of the most disappointing of the series. Because with this premise, it should've been SPECTACULAR. Not sure why, but it only really stays as just good
28. Creepy Case of Old Iron Face- Okay, there is some pretty tough competition ahead, and I wanted to rank this higher, especially because Iron Face as a villain is an absolute classic
27. A Bum Steer for Scooby- I was always entertained by this one. It is nothing extraordinarily special, just classic Scooby Doo Show season 1
26. Mamba Wamba and Voodoo Hoodoo- This one has grown on me, largely thanks to the setting which makes for a fun Louisiana episode
25. Gruesome Game of the Gator Ghoul- Hard to rank this so low because it is great. Scooby Dum is there, awesome Georgia swamp setting, iconic monster. I just kinda wish the mystery was a bit more fleshed out I guess
24. The Ozark Witch Switch- Still really good, and has that nice dark season 2 atmosphere, but I always felt it was weaker than the rest of the episodes that season, and weaker than the other witch episode
23. The Fiesta Host is an Aztec Ghost- Doesn't do anything exceptionally well, but it is a really easy and smooth episode to watch if that makes sense
22. The Tar Monster- Entertaining episode. Mystery was a bit generic, but the villain made up for it
21. Creepy Creature of Vulture's Claw- One of my favorites of season 3. Loved the gardens, the big house, and I like the solution to the mystery
20. The Spirits of 76- The top 20 are all absolutely fantastic. I just like the other ones better than this one I think
19. The Diabolical Disc Demon- One of the very best of season 3. The mystery was more interesting than i originally remembered
18. Scared a Lot in Camelot- A childhood favorite of mine, still a REALLY solid magic and castle episode
17. Creepy Heap from the Deep- Such a creepy episode. Love that season 2 atmosphere
16. Curse of Viking Lake- That museum scene is one of my favorites of the season
15. A Menace in Venice- The monster is awesome, the mystery is really cool, and the setting is SUPERB
14. There's a Demon Shark in the Foggy Dark- For some reason, I have been finding myself coming back to this one more and more. A really interesting take on a jewel theft and I personally like it better than Scooby's Night With a Frozen Fright in terms of aquarium setting. Though it isn't better than Secret of Shark Island with the obvious monster comparison
13. Frightened Hound Meets Demons Underground- The underground setting has had me coming back to this one a lot as well, and I also enjoy the above ground settings as well
12. To Switch a Witch- Best of season 3. By far the most interesting episode of that season. My biggest critique is that the reveal is a bit underwhelming for the witch herself (could've had a mask or hosed her off or something idk) but it didn't even look like what she was supposed to that much, but the accomplice reveal was interesting enough
11. Chiller Diller Movie Thriller- Settings and mystery are top notch. Only thing keeping it out of the top ten proper were the WEIRD relations between Scooby Dee and her cousins LOL
10. Harum Scarum Sanitarium- Positively terrifying. Makes for a super cool episode
9. Hang in There Scooby Doo- This one almost feels like a mix of the feels of a season 1 episode and a season 2 episode. It works really well
8. No Faced Zombie Chase Case- Super fun one. This is by far one of the best constant chase episodes
7. Spooky Case of the Grand Prix Race- Virtually flawless. Only here because the top 6 are so strong
6. Ghost of the Bad Humor Man- Is both a ton of fun as well as having some really good writing in this one
5. Watt a Shocking Ghost- One of the best winter episodes ever
4. Creepy Cruise- This one just gets better and better. The mystery was a stroke of genius on the writers part, the cruise setting was spectacular, just such a good episode
3. Headless Horseman of Halloween- The plane scene went on a bit too long, but before it got to that point, the rest of this episode was a contender for the greatest of all time title for me
2. Vampire Bats and Scaredy Cats- Perfect. Simply a perfect episode
1. High Rise Hair Raiser- What can I say? It is my all time favorite episode, it has it all. Funny scenes, a creepy monster, a fresh and unique setting, an even fresher and unique mystery, and much more

34. The Warlock of Wimbledon- I was very prepared to rank this one even lower until I rewatched it and realized how good I think the first half of the episode is. One of the most solid first halves of any episode this season. I can't rank it any higher than this though when the second half tries to be so outlandish that the mystery basically becomes nonsense I'm happy to see someone acknowledge that the first half of this episode was really good, rather than just saying the whole episode was bad. It always disappointed me how the mystery went downhill after the first half and it suddenly just became all gags. I still appreciate the first half for what it is though, and don't hate this episode as much as others do for that reason. Also, I thought I'd posted a ranking here but apparently I haven't! I'll have to write that up at some point soon and post it
