Loved the first story but Scrappy's one was a big fat HELL NAH for me. I hope they kill him soon cause I can stand him, plus the similiarities with the live action movie.. cant stand it

Loved the first story but Scrappy's one was a big fat HELL NAH for me. I hope they kill him soon cause I can stand him, plus the similiarities with the live action movie.. cant stand it Well Velma sure has issues that's for sure, if not some full-blown personality disorder. The scrappy story, interesting but I do feel it was there to fill out the book and set up something for later. I think this will be a pivotal issue, and not necessarily in a good way. My guess is that we'll see sales of #7 drop, as yet again, nothing really happens. One comment I've heard is that Apocalypse would work better as trade paperback where the narrative flows better. This issue may be an important point in the story (and it is) but will it put people off carrying on with the series? We'll finds out in a couple of months when the November figures are out.

It was a good issue, but kind of slow. It's a shame its monthly rather then every fortnight as the story is going at a slow pace.
I thought Velma's origin was good, but it definitely didn't need a whole issue. The whole "The Four" references throughout the series had me hoping it be someone from the show, but nope it's four of her brothers they just made up. Speaking of which why couldn't Madelyn have been one of The Four instead of a friend at school? I was happy to see they got her in somehow, but Marcie would've been a much better fit. I liked her shouting at Scooby at the end, it's similar to some of the more recent DTVs.
The whole purpose of the Scrappy plot seems to be is there trying to show how the 2002 Scrappy plot could've been good, or at least okay. It is okay, but why couldn't we have got something new? At least he has an origin now and it's actually okay, but his hatred of Scooby is completely out of nowhere.

...but his hatred of Scooby is completely out of nowhere. Small-dog syndrome, Scooby got the attention that Scrappy thought he deserved. I agree about the slowness, they do need to step it up a botch in the next few issues or they'll end up shedding readers out of boredom.

I do feel kind of let down by the covers, they promised a very different story fro what was inside. The covers were great but had no connection to the story inside. especially the main one, unless that is a taste of what is to come.

This issue makes a lot more sense to me as it is the end of the 1st Trade Paperback.

This issue was veey interesting! Seeing Velma's backstory fills in some blanks, but there are still questions to be answered: why did the four change the purpose of the project? A revenge scheme on their smarter sister? Pure madness for power? I can't wait for the next!! Scrappy's story was quite interesting. Inspired by the 2002 live-action movie. Let's see where they go with that...

That gets my vote, though as they are a group of jerks they could have done it for the lutz.

Argh, not again... Well, that's the last straw for me. Hasta la vista, Scooby Apocalypse.

Argh, not again... Well, that's the last straw for me. Hasta la vista, Scooby Apocalypse. = My phobia of giant monsters got the better of me in those moments when I was processing what was going on. I've since given Scooby Apocalypse another chance. I initially saw no resemblance between Scooby Apocalypse Scrappy and Cartoon Scrappy (Or the others for that matter. Well, I can see it occasionally, especially Shaggy, Scooby, and Velma, but that's it) But when I look a little closer, and I find some small flickers of the old Scrappy I'd come to know. Like, I mean, don't you think it's kind of something Scrappy would do, go right ahead and try out some untested upgrade? And the last line..."I'm ready for those beasties! I'm ready for anything!" I could hear Scrappy saying that. Of course the moment got killed a bit a second later when he muttered something about "That soft-hearted Scoobert" I guess it's to be expected that in this universe he grew up bitter-he grew up in a laboratory and was treated as an experiment, plus they enhanced his aggressiveness...as for the transformation it mostly seems they are mostly trying to further "badassify" him, but even if he's not as giant monstery at first glance, I just find this new design kind of disturbing for some reason. Well, I guess it WOULD be helpful surviving the apocalypse...I dunno. I don't think he's evil, and I don't think he's jealous like some of you guys think. (I don't know what it is, I just don't think it's jealousy and I can't explain it) I think you were right Russm, about him getting a fair hearing. I guess I was kind of overly hostile about this version of Scrappy, which is weird because I like Scrappy and I did get the sense he wasn't an out and out bad guy. But I am glad that I decided to give this comic another go. I am warming up to it.
