Just curious (no judgement, here, just sincere curiosity). I'm not much of a "shipping" type of guy, so I wonder what the specific attraction of seeing Daphne and Shaggy being paired up, romantically or otherwise? What is it about these two characters that seeing them together is appealing. Do you also feel like you would want to see this using the BCSD version of these characters? How would you articulate the appeal of seeing them get/work together? What about their personalities/characters seem to compliment or contrast each other to suggest good stories? Again, I'm generally curious as the whole "ship" thing is an foreign concept to me. OH gosh no! Please no! I like shipping but I would not ask for that out of any show that I follow. That's one reason one I didn't like MI because of the shipping. I want to say other wise because we normally don't see them splitting up like that. It's always Fred, Daphne, and Velma. Or Velma, shaggy, and scooby. There's not much of a variety in the old seasons this way. That's one particular reason why I like grand scam because they do interact more. I like seeing how the characters interact with each other and how they play off of each other. Shaggy is one of my favorite characters next to Daphne so to see them interact more is fun (hence I ship, I like to pair of characters that are my favorites). That's one reason why I like 13 ghosts and the shorts because I see them getting along and complimenting each other. I really can't describe what I'd like to see, but in all to act like friends. MI and maybe a bit of the original, I couldn't really see any of the characters act like friends until the later seasons and what's new. So I'd just like to see more variety of them splitting up and more interactions of the characters. At least those that we don't normally see getting along. So I'd also think it'd be interesting to see Fred, shaggy, and scooby split up. Or even Daphne and Velma acting like gal pals. The whole reason I suggested shaggy and daphne is because I enjoy their characters in how they interact and I think they should have more screen time. This Daphne is pretty awesome and some of her quirks could play off awesomely with Shaggys (depending on what it is). I totally understand this. I think you'll see some interesting splitting up pairings in upcoming episodes (not all of them, but a few). This is something, in general, I want to play with more, so I'm glad there's interest in it. Thanks for your thoughtful comments!

No need to beg, SA. I have no plans on bringing in relationship stuff into the gang. I was not a fan of that aspect of SDMI and Zac and I agreed to lose it completely from BCSD, including the old Daphne and Fred crush idea that has permeated several other series and/or movies. That said, the gang are a bunch of 18 year-old kids and I have no problem exploring their characters through crushes or relationships with people outside the gang. Normally, we will play it as a lighthearted runner in order to push the main characters into interesting situations that further allow us to explore them as people. I've been thinking about Velma and Fred recently, myself. They play off well with each other, and as crazy as it seems could actually work. This was totally the one place to say, but I wasn't referring to them in this show particularly, just something I noticed personally in the first direct-to-video films (mostly because they were the skeptical ones and Daphne was the believer). Sorry I mixed it up.

I'd like to see Velma in peril/ getting grabbed by the baddies. Much comedy could ensue plus they could bring back the Velma puppet to help with the case.

I'd like to see Velma in peril/ getting grabbed by the baddies. Much comedy could ensue plus they could bring back the Velma puppet to help with the case. That would be funny, although Daphne seems to have (been forced) to ditch the puppets. But then again irreverent things always happen, so who knows? Your post reminded me for some reason that we've never seen Velma lose her glasses.

I'd like Daphne's obsession for an episode to be romance. One if the things the original liked was love e.g. the tunnel of love, her having a crush on that band member and Shaggy saying she's going to scare up a couple of boyfriends with the mask she bought. Maybe every one can tell her to date Fred, but she finds that idea stupid, poking fun at Fraphne. I did an essay about possible Shaphne below, but like ShaphneFan I don't ask for it, though I'm more suggestive. Any boy other than Fred is good enough for me. (Mainly because it's become over saturated at this point) I'd love to see Scrappy (I can imagine the fun Be Cool would have), Hex Girls (we need to learn Dusk and Luna's real names!) , Flim Flam, Vincent, Mumsy Doo and Dada Doo Scooby Dee, or Scooby Dum make a guest appearance. Id like to see Scooby be more loyal, I didn't like him in the episode where he has to stay the night. But great job on making him adorable, apart from that episode the cuteness of the original Scooby is added perfectly. It it be nice to see the gang's head quarters, wether it's Shaggy's treehouse, their club house, Shaggy and Daph's house from 13 ghosts or something new. Oh I'd like to see the gang sleep in a house in one episode, we've only ever seen Daphne in her pajamas and no one fell asleep. If your going the foreign countries route, I have to suggest Ireland. As others previously mentioned old villains coming back could be cool. Maybe an episode where Shaggy becomes a vegetarian, as tribute to Kasem? I was going to say an episode wear Daphne gets pink tights and lavender shoes, but that came out a lot less boring than I had in mind. I don't care if it's the monster, The Malt Shop needs to come back! Oh and Scooby's Rubber Duck(s)! (This looks like a speech , though I can add to it if one requests anything)

More episodes with daphne and shaggy working together. Just curious (no judgement, here, just sincere curiosity). Again, I'm generally curious as the whole "ship" thing is an foreign concept to me. I agree with ShapgneFan 100%! I think Fred and Velma almost seem like an "old married couple" in Be Cool, so it's kind of hard not to ship them. I do like Fred and Velma's small bickers with each other, and they don't tend to do that when Daphne's around. I don't ship the Be Cool Daphne/Shaggy as much as I do previous versions (mainly from when Scrappy joined-13 ghosts). I think the Be Cool Daphne could easy fit in with "team Scardy Cats", she did join them at the back of the mystery machine after all. She seems to get them and they seem to get her, Fred and Velma seem confused with them most of the time. It's hard to explain it just seems like she knows him, and what he's been through. Shaggy had rich relatives in the original (mainly uncles), she is said to be rich. Maybe one episode could have them fighting over who's more down to earth? If you are thinking going the romance route, I think Daphne is the only woman Scooby would ever let be his owner, plus she willingly gives him Scooby Snacks. Mabye you could make fun of Shaggy's girlfriend from the Reluctant Werewolf? Hey I'm sure it would be easy for him to get permission from her parents, he did meet them before (I actually didn't find out until recently, I called my parents Mother and Dad since I was like 6 because that's what Daphne called hers ). Plus they lived together during 13 ghosts, but I'm sure this takes place before, btw I loved the 13 ghosts reference of Daphne flying planes. Oh you could give the origin story about how he found out where she's ticklish (mentioned in the first episode of thirteen ghosts), a pillow monster in a haunted bed shop?

Oh and Scooby's Rubber Duck! At the moment I see no logical reason for people to say to Daphne that she should date Fred. There's nothing romantic between. It'd be like everyone saying that Shaggy and Velma should date, and there's nothing romantic between them either. Even if Dusk and Luna did get real names that wouldn't have anything to do with the main continuity. They'd still just be known by their nicknames.

It be good for fan fiction and such, if we could at least call them something other than Dusk and Luna, I'd call Thorn Sally more often if other people did.

It'd be cool to see all of them interact with each other in different ways. I figured you're a writer for the show and thought to ask: in the writing process which characters do you see acting naturally around each other? Like the splitting up pairs that gets the laughs and really getting along? Other then scooby and shaggy that is.

That's one reason one I didn't like MI because of the shipping. It wasn't exactly shipping, more of an avoidable and tragic navigational accident.

I would like to see a whole lot of Fraphne. haha. But i actually think it's a good think they let people know before hand not to expect relationship stuff. Cause i'm able to really enjoy this show for what it is.

Cause i'm able to really enjoy this show for what it is. Nooooo! You don't have to worry about it. It's not happening in BCSD. lol. But i'm not a liar. I am loving BCSD. But I have to be honest. Just because i'm loving it doesn't mean i can't disagree about some things. Like the big thing i disagree with is just something that has nothing to do with BCSD. It's the opinions on the prior series. I love ongoing arc and the expansion on interpersonal relationships that SDMI did. I don't see that as a bad thing to have in a show. But i get wanting a lighter tone again to maybe expand the audience. But i had no issues with the tone of SDMI. Then again i'm 30. Nothing in SDMI was too dark or scary for me. But for maybe between the ages 6-10...yeah MI was maybe too dark and BCSD was made more light hearted to get a little younger audience. I mean it's possible Cartoon Network looked into it and found out a lot of people didn't watch MI cause of the tone. And they decided...We have to do lighter again. This is still a business. None of us expect JCB or Zac were flies on the wall when they went into developing the next scooby series after MI which turned out to be BCSD. With all that said..I watched what all 21 BCSD episodes in a 3 day period. Obviously i enjoy the show a whole lot or i wouldn't have been able to sit through 9 episodes in a row multiple times. haha.

Cause i'm able to really enjoy this show for what it is. I don't want to see any parings at all, even those I enjoy. Why? Because once you do that you immediately alienate those who don't like\want a different paring plus you risk it becoming written for the 'interpersonal drama' rather than the mysteries and fun. SD:MI is a lesson in how not to write parings.

SD:MI is a lesson in how not to write parings. If they wrote Shelma, Fraphne or heck even Fraggy in a subtle way I wouldn't care to much. Yes, I'd br disappointed I didn't get Shaphne or Frelma, but if the show makes the couple likable they can go ahead. Couples should feel more natural, like in 13 ghosts it's never said that Shaggy is married to Daphne yet you can still clearly see they as a couple. Having one episode devoted to starting the couple and then just subtle hints from the way out would be fine. Also IMO the fact that the characters were unlikable in MI made it harder to root for the relationships.
