As cliché as it sounds, I think it would've made sense if they had made another one, for it to be about graduation. Ratings were good and they were all signed on for more, but for whatever reason it just never happened. I'm sure even if it was stalled for one or two years, the cast could've reunited. It would be impossible now, as they've all become a bit too old (we don't need for Luke Perrys pretending to be teenagers), and moved onto different things (Robbie Amell has probably become the biggest of them all with his Firestorm fame on the CW's Arrow). I thought Mystery Begins was great, and while I didn't think the Lake Monster wasn't quite as good, I think it still could've followed with one last film (unlike Ben 10: Alien Swarm, which in my opinion, is an epic distaster of a movie, it's beyond terrible when it should've been the complete opposite. Shame on CN, because that was a true CN original).
I think one reason it didn't get made was the collapse of Warner Premiere, and CN couldn't finance another alone.

I'm kind of glad there was no 3rd movie with Amell! I didn't like him as Fred. It was tough sitting through those movies.
