Really odd if he hadn't read that script. I was just like, oh Kingston... like in the screenplay. Not everyone has instant access to the script, though.

Maybe Kingston just sounds like a university.

Wow! I never saw that before! It seemed like such a good idea, now it seems like such an unoriginal one! Boo me! Haha

Since Kingston is so prestigious would Velma really turn it down so easily. She's like "Yeah, I'm just going to take a break" as if they'd just wait for her. For me, it also ties with the gang's whole avoidance of doing real things, even at this point in their lives where they've supposedly graduated, they're still flimsy on doing anything real (the words I chose aren't meant to sound disrespectful, just from my point of view), but then they're still teenagers not sure with what they're doing. Velma still hasn't exactly worked on her people skills. Well she has a place so what's the rush? Also, that decision is a lot more mature than it sounds, it's easy to do stuff because that's what's expected of you, so to step back and say that they'll take some time out to do other stuff is good. It's not unusual for people to do a 'gap year' between leaving school and starting university to go off and do stuff, travel, voluntary work and so on. Velma's just doing a gap year. It would also look good on her CV for when she finally graduates. I get people taking a "year off to find themselves", I just thought it was very fresh and kind of mature in a way to actually see one of them go to a university meeting (albeit not being under the most normal of circumstances), and having it be Velma made perfect sense, only for her to turn them down!

A classic and simple episode, but a great one. Awesome throwback design to Elias Kingston. I loved the Kingston University setting. The side characters were good and so we're the puppets
