I thought it was boring. They got lazy with the "villain" (glowing animals? come on) who never even properly chased the gang until well after the second half of the episode.

Spoilers Ahead! This episode is really one huge nod to Zombie Island, in my opinion. I mean they're in a secluded jungle and start off going down a creepy swamp in a riverboat, Fred armed with his trusty video camera; deja vu anyone? Early on in the episode Shaggy and his sandwich are surrounded by safari animals, much like how Scooby-Doo and his peppered sandwich are surrounded by cats at the end of the movie. Fred realizes on a playback of his footage that there's something strange going on with the animals, reminiscent of them first seeing Morgan Moonscar during a playback. Mbuku reveals himself to be an undercover police officer investigating disappearing animals, nodding to Beau Neville, who was undercover on Moonscar Island as a gardener investigating various strange tourist disappearances. Daphne makes a comment at the end of the episode about how the bugs, blistering heat, humidity and flesh-eating plants aren't ideal for a " romantic honeymoon", in direct contrast and possibly as a nod to a comment at the end of Zombie Island about how with all the cat creatures gone, the island was a pretty romantic spot. Also, Dr. Joan Goodfew's off-putting attitude toward civilization and her suspicious comings and goings put me in mind of the mysterious Snakebite Scruggs, his disdain for tourists and strange appearances. There's also boat trouble, the bad guys end up being people who have been with the gang the entire time - like Lena and Simone - a watering hole scene that is interrupted by strange music (though in the movie, it's strange wind), vine-swings in the chase scene (though none turn out to be snakes) along with a couple close-call alligator scenes and it turns out that the animals chasing the gang end up being innocent byproducts of the bad guys, much like the zombies are innocent byproducts of the cat creatures. This could also be purely coincidental seeing as how Scooby voice actors are usually used over and over but the presence of Jennifer Hale (various but most notably Thorn; Witch's Ghost), Bumper Robinson (Jamal; Ghoul School) and Kevin Michael Richardson (various but most notably Max; Alien Invaders), who make up this particular episodes non-Scooby-gang cast, really make it one gigantic Scooby reference for me.

This one was pretty decent. There was a lot of fun and action-packed scenes. The jungle and monkey were cool. The "monster" being glowing animals was kinda lame and weird

Not a lot to comment on the episode, but Velma being called a "floozy" was kind of unexpected, and I found it hilarious.
