Overall, I enjoyed this, but I've seen better. The villains were really cool, though.

This one has lost some steam for me, because i have seen it so many times. For some reason CN really loved it when i was little and showed it all the time. It is a cool episode though and i really like the haunted/cursed pyramide.

It's decent enough.

I liked it. Doesn't really stand out in a season full of classics though

This is an episode of 2 halves. First half is just all set up and begins to drag on, a fair bit. Second half, with them exploring the haunted river and Aztec pyramids is really fantastic. That hermit by the river reminds me of the Caveman from "Frozen Fright" haha

I guess this one came first but I’ve always like Harum Scarum so much better

I've probably seen this one more cause I had it on VHS growing up so it's kinda special to me.

The first dvd i got with either episode was the 13 Spooky Tales around the world where they are back to back so that is another connection these two have for me

I've never actually owned any of TSDS on phycial media - just on iTunes. I wish they would release the first 2 seasons on Blu-Ray cause I don't think they've ever had an HD release.

Plot: I am a huge fan of the mysterious American history before Europeans arrived, so I mostly enjoyed this episode. There were also some cool riddles in the pyramid that gave off an Indian Jones vibe (5 years before Raiders of the Lost Ark, lol), which I really liked. There were some plot points, though, like how the giant footprints were created and how the creepy hermit knew about the gang's plans. Also, it was kinda obvious who the culprit was. Professor Stonehack's disappearance was executed poorly, giving the impression that he was behind all that. 7/10
Set Up:Mexico was a fresh breath of air. Everything was amazing, from the city where the fiesta was, to the haunted river and, finally, the ancient Aztec pyramid. 9/10
Villain(s):Both the monsters in the episode were pretty solid. I wish they would have kept the Ghost of King Katazuma as a giant the whole episode, though. 7/10
Final Score: 7.7/10
