As a show, it turned out really nice, and I think this episode was good enough to start it. I loved this part:

There are a bunch of really good exchanges in this episode. (Not to say it wasn't common in scooby, but this one stands out)
Besides the one above, Scooby's attempt to show Shaggy the Specter in the pail are really roll around funny.

So this was the first of the "Scooby Doo Show" ? I've had it backwards. Thought the Bermuda Triangle episode was.

They mention not having enough money. Where do they get their money?!

They mention not having enough money. Where do they get their money?! Their parents, also maybe from the local authorities for solving some mysteries. This is a fun episode, because it is one of the very few that actually has the gang looking and having a job. And i really love when they go to see some "suspect" in a spooky little house in nowhere.

Solid opening episode. I always enjoy it when the gang tries to find a job, and the construction setting was a genius part on the writers part. Ebeneezer Crabbe was a pretty cool looking ghost too.

This was the first VHS tape that my family got with our first VCR, in 1984.

Ok here it is. My all time favorite episode of Scooby Doo. Everything is just perfect to me. You have the unique setting at a construction site, the unique crime as well as creative clues to get to that point and we get a little glimpse at every day life for the gang at the beginning. Of course the spell book with Shaggy and Scooby is one of my all time favorite little gags. Ebenezer has a creepy design and most importantly it has nostalgia on its side. My favorite episode has changed before, but I'm not sure how likely it is to change from this one. Just exceptional

Plot:A great series premiere and a perfect classic episode. I really liked the gang's search for a job, their great detective work and investigation (especially in the creepy old house), and the methodic solution. I only wish they would have explored dark magic more instead of a brief joke. 10/10 Set Up: The construction site still causes me some anxiety because of my fear of heights. The old house was awesome. In my opinion, the perfect scooby-haunted house 10/10 Villain(s): The ghost of Ebenezer is a solid villain. Netty's ghost is far scarier, though. Overall, this episode had some frightening villains. 10/10
I feel so nostalgic for this episode and for the series in general (I saw every episode 1000 times), so I decided to remove the nostalgia boost for now cause every episode would have been 10/10. I will use it only to boost some episodes with low scores.
Final Score:10/10
