The villain doing a moniker of Shaggy was the creepiest part of this episode. That is another great scene!

I'm glad that some people think the same way about that scene.

Watched this episode last week and think I've finally came to fully appreciate it, now. That said, I've always found it to be less that the sum of its parts. The spooky segments are what truly make this one - and there's a fair few of them! It's not the most fun-filled mystery with a fair bit of backtracking but it's pitch dark atmosphere more than makes up for its flaws.

"Star Dog" is featured in the April 2000 USA Scooby Comic series. I think it's the same series Scooby and Shaggy talk about in this episode at the beginning.

Plot: A nice and scary combination of Sherlock Holmes and The Phantom of the Opera It's perfectly clear that there wasn't something paranormal, so we got to see the detective side of the gang more. I liked that a lot but it's not a 10 cause of some plot holes.9/10 Set Up: The empty theter and the puppets made a great and creepy atmosphere. 10/10 Monster: I am fine with the absence of the supernatural in this one. The puppet master was great. His moves in the shadows and his tricks gave me shivers down my spine. 10/10
BONUS Nostalgia Boodt: None. It is one of my favorites now, but I don't recall watching it a lot growing up.
Overall, I liked it a lot, and it was definitely one of the creepiest of the series. Final Score: 9.7/10
