The villain was pretty chill at the end, lol. He even volunteered with pride to help show how he did one of his tricks. I remember when seeing it as a kid for the first time I thought he was going to use it as a last-ditch attempt to escape, lol.

That because the police probably would have caught him soon anyway, even if Scooby and the gang hadn't shown up.

A lot of these villains are so dedicated....hanging around spooky places by themselves. I couldn't do it. I'd be too scared!

I've been thinking about this episode more and I have two questions:
Can somebody explain the talking skull "it's alright" to me?
Why is this listed here as the second episode of SDWAY but on the DVD and digital it's the third?
Thanks.

I believe it is because the order that they were aired and the order they are on the DVD are different. I think the forums list them in the order they were aired on TV. I see different episode numbers all the time for many Scooby Doo episodes and it is always difficult to determine which one is correct.

Even though this episode is overplayed, there is a reason. It is the most classic Scooby-Doo episode. An amazing haunted castle, shipwreck on an evil island, and a creepy cackling ghost that can walk through walls. One of the best Scooby-Doo episodes ever

The sub-boards should list them here in the order they aired on TV. I would I have to check again to be sure, but I think this one was the third produced (hence "A Clue for Scooby-Doo" using the original Austin Roberts theme and this episode using the updated one), but the second to air on television.

"S'aright" was the catchphrase of one of his puppets.

I love this episode. My favorite part is when the skull makes Shaggy a sandwich and he goes "like thanks" and the skull is all: "s'alright". Probably one of my favorite Scooby moments of all time. Yeah. And he even provides mustard. Funny, I hate mustard. But somehow the kind Shaggy has looks more delicious.

Definitely a funny episode, but was always SO overplayed. Definitely has regained some favor since I was a kid, and still a good episode, but not one of the very best

Definitely a funny episode, but was always SO overplayed. And overreleased. This episode has been released on 23 different DVD sets, more than any other Scooby episode.

I was always so disappointed when I got a dvd and Hassle in the Castle was on yet another one before I got the complete series
