This was a fun episode; I loved the design of Captain Cutler's diving suit and oceanic mysteries are always a blast.

I love this epsiode! I like episodes that take the gang on old abandoned sips/cruises/diving. There were also plenty of hilarious moments scattered throughout, and I love Don's portrayal of Scooby in this episode!

I agree this is a great episode! I tend to always enjoy the sea monster Scooby episodes, and I thought the villain for this episode was especially cool looking.

I like the sound effects used as we see Captain Cutler rise up from the deep This were indeed very spooky and cool, along with the Spooky Space Kook and the Funland Robot sounds!!!

The sound Captain Cutler made was so creepy and cool! I also liked to see the gang in diving suits for their first time.

I also enjoyed this episode! An especially interesting case with the culprit pretending to be the ghost of himself. Plenty of fun and amusing moments. Anyone else catch the part where Shaggy briefly has blond hair?
Observations: - The beach where the gang hang out at is named Rocky Point Beach. - Shaggy eats chocolate covered hot dogs, a fact of which disgusts Velma. - Shaggy states his first toy was a garbage disposal. It is unclear if he was joking. - Scooby asks Shaggy to transcribe one of the labels in Mrs. Cutler’s house. This implies that though Scooby can talk, he can not read. The "Hassle in the Castle" episode does imply he is trying to learn. - Shaggy is the first to identify the man behind Captain Cutler’s Ghost as Captain Cutler himself.

I also kind of really like the reveal of having a person pretend to be their own ghost happened very early in the very first Scooby show. It's just a funny gag that while now seems obvious at first hits you like "you mean the Ghost of Captain Cutler was really just the not-so-dead Captain Cutler?"

Really, really good episode. Captain Cutler always freaked me out as a child, and Mrs. Cutler was pretty freaky as well too. I always got this and High-Rise Hair Raiser mixed up, because of the magic aspect, which I assumed was in this episode. I should have realized that the difference in animation, was more then enough to separate the two.
Also I like that we got another morning scene. Seems like they got rid of those scenes early on, as they got the shows formula down.

Was I the only one that noticed in the scene where Shaggy revealed the secret entrance, his hair is blonde instead of the normal brown?
