This is by far my favorite episode of this series. It had a cool villain, and I really liked seeing more of the gang's relatives.

I love this episode too. It was probably the most watched of my old scooby vhs tapes.
A gag i love in this episode is where they realize the map is in the ring and everyone's like "it is?" and the ghost even joins in with "it is!" Great gag.

It was indeed a very nice episode, with more background on family trees, like Doo said.

I love the family members that they mention. It's nice to see shaggys sister too.

I'd love to see The Shaggy's parents and sister again. I read on hero wiki that Mr. and Mrs. Rogers are named Sam and Wendy. Where would the person who posted that have gotten that info?

Seeing as it was never in any print materials (from hb or not) i just ignored it and decided that Colton and Paula are the names just like MI, and of course Velma's parents being Angie & Dale is correct in either time line. The Sam & Wendy thing was probably something from an unreliable wiki. Also i consider "Nan" & Barty to be nicknames for Daphne's folks, although i'm not sure hown you gey Nan out of Elizabeth, although with Daphne's dad's ridiculously long name of George Robert Nedley Blake, i see where you'd get Barty from. Too bad Scooby's folks were never given proper names (so I just named 'em after v.a's in fanfics, Dada Doo became Don Doo and I named Mumsy Marla, after Velma's scrappy era actress because i wanted something that started with the same letter and still had Scoobyness to it.)

I love the few monsters/ghosts that are based on being "evil" versions of one of the characters, especially one of the "coward" characters like Shaggy and/or Scooby. Dapper Dan from Shaggy's Showdown was pretty cool too.

I agree, easily the best of the series by probably the largest margin of any series. Loved this one a lot. I also appreciated the addition of Shaggy's family especially Gaggy Rogers and Whoopsy Doo who were very welcome comedy relief

It’s absolutely right there with Nutcracker, Halloween Hassle, Happy Birthday, and a few first season eps in the best of the best group for the Scrappy era
