I see one moment where Fred's head almost does an exorcist head turn to the back of his body.

Such a funny episode! The jazzy music effects and all the Scooby-begin-chased-by-the-villain moments were totally fun! I moslty liked it when Fred asked Shaggy to ring the door and he said: "ring-a-ding ding, coming up!"

This episode got me interested in ghost towns. In the USA there is this: www.ghosttowns.com

Observations: - This is the first episode where Daphne is referred to as "Danger-Prone Daphne." - Shaggy can imitate train noises. Not many observations for this one, but it was a good episode nonetheless. I got a laugh out of Shaggy mistaking the dynamite for candles. Also...

Damn, Fred's head did a complete 180 there. That's kind of a rude nickname isn't it?

I haven't watched this episode in forever but in my opinion all of the SDWAY episodes are good. I don't ever remember it being one of my favorites but it's enjoyable.
I honestly don't think Hank's costume is unoriginal. Let's remember: the 'ghost' is a miner; this is what he would have worn. The fact that in a small, deserted, mining town Hank wears what miners would have worn isn't overly surprising.

That's kind of a rude nickname isn't it? Eh, I have a nickname quite similar to it and I don't really mind it.

I maintain that Hank gets the award for least creative costume in a Scooby episode PERIOD. He's literally in his normal clothes with a beard...or the production crew just phoned it in on the day they designed the character. Eh, I'd say Bluestone The Great's costume was pretty uncreative, I guess I could give it points for being simple.

Pretty solid episode. It does feel like an early though, with that whole jazz opening. The ghost town location was actually a great idea on the writers part and it made for some really good atmosphere. In particular I was always freaked out by the miner's moaning.
Hank being the minor was always an obvious, even as a child. Big Ben certainly wouldn't have made much sense.
