I just though they were friends, but then i saw the intro with HDW holding a picture of Velma and hugging it, then i though they were a couple. Plus the whole break up like think in "Web of the dreamweaver" and the "That'' my Girl!" HDW said in "Come Undone". So what do you think? I think they were a couple kinda?

They pretty much threw it in our faces in the most kid-friendly way possible! I really loved the relationship/friendship between Hot Dog Water and Velma, they were great together. I don't think they'd be able to go anywhere with it though even if they wanted to due to censorship, homophobia, and controversy it could and would cause. If you've seen Sailor Moon or know of it, they had to censor a lesbian relationship in order for it to be "appropriate" for children and Cartoonnetwork. They were changed into "cousins", although that change didn't bother me and they are two of my favorite characters!

I didn't know that about Sailor Moon, i never watched it, but i know someone who loved it when they were younger so i know of it. ("appropriate" for children and Cartoonnetwork.) that seems kinda...... well ironic because they are against bullying and stuff, and homophobic people are a big reason why so many kids get picked on. Sooooooo they're kinda hypocrites.

IIRC this came up here when the second season first aired. From what I can remember their was supposed to be a kind of relationship between Velma & HDW and they went as far as they could in hinting it in the show without giving CN cold feet. Can't remember if this was via Tony Cervone of if it was the general consensus here..

it was via tony as i recall. but as views visa vis gay relationships continue to change. you might be more open about it in toons in the future. i mean how many times did bugs dress up as a chick and kiss elmer in looney tunes. and yes they were a couple.

Yeah, i think in the future there will be more gay/lesbian couples in toons. I mean if you ever heard of the disney channel series "Good luck Charlie" (It's one of my favorite shows! ) they had a lesbian couple in one of the last episodes, and Archie comics has "Kevin Keller" a gay comic book character. So i think one day, they might have gay/lesbian couples in cartoons. I mean i kinda think a lot of people already wonder about Velma lol!

No, they weren't a couple... There may have been an extremely strong chemistry, as they both had a lot in common, but that's all. Don't forget that Hot Dog Water was a nerd with no friends, as she said in "Web of the Dreamweaver!". Velma was her first friend, and being actually dumped really struck her. I agree that in the intro used in episodes 29-30, she hugged a photo of Velma, but did anyone else notice that her moves were the same as Daphne's in the opening? She couldn't hug a photo of Fred, cause, simply, she doesn't like Fred.

Yeah, i noticed that the animation was the same as Daphne's. I bet they took the normal intro and just edited it. Putting HDW over Daphne's place.

yes they copied her intro over Daphnes, but that stuill doesnt mean that she didnt have feelings for Velmas. it todays day and age theres very little in the way of platonic relationships.

There is absoulute nothing wrong with being LGBT in my opinion. Yeah i totally agree. And i would of liked to see Velma and HDW together for real in SDMI.

Hopefully someday people will move past their phobias and LGBT people will be more properly represented in all forms of media. Although, I personally never saw Velma as being part of the LGBT group. Her relationship with HDW was awesome though! She was certainly my favorite character in the series!

there have been jokes about Velma being gay for years, perhaps the relationship with Hot Dog Water was the developers way of giving a wink to that old saw. i fully expect there to be more gay or lesbian couples in toons in the future, and having a gay or lesbian couple in scooby would make no difference to me watching the show.

Well, Scooby is Scooby, but it still remains more of a kids show, so I don't think/I hope they don't go that way...
